The barbecue consisted of jacket potatoes, which made our evening meal more interesting but which the locals declined to try.

This structure is made out of jerrycans (discarded by the Indian Army?) thus lending a whole new meaning to the expression "jerry building".

This was my first trek on this trip, and as can be observed I had not yet started to shed those many kilos which I left behind in Ladakh.

I've always had my ears pierced. I got the top of my left ear pierced when I was 16 or so, but I always wanted something else. I debated debated and finally, when I was 22, I went and got my belly pierced. I'm very happy I did it even though I'm the only one who ever sees it.
