SS Dicky wreck - Full moon rises over the beach, . Moffat Beach - Caloundra to the right. Moon rise and Sunset were almost at the same time.
The moon is superimposed, it would not be possible otherwise. The real moon has no textures and due to long exposure there is a bit of movement.

The Wasps started this nest around 20 feet up on the roof eave but seem to have abandoned it. I'm glad they did, we would have had to destroy the nest since it is right above my Herb garden.

People like to make their mark- we see evidence of this on trees, under bridges, on trains and picnic tables- this one made me stop- I wondered who would be walking around with a fistful of nails and a hammer and then take the time to bang in all those nails (in a public place)

I thought this was a Raven nest, but Jeff says it might be a Squirrel's nest. I'm not sure.

The weather is so sucky (indeed) at the moment, and on the weekends (only time i can take photos, really), I am usually busy and when I arrive home, it's too dark. Yus, Emmi hates winter.

"Last week, I got 2nd place! Thank you so much! This week's theme was all about Beyonce and her songs. I honestly don't listen that much to her music so I was kinda scared. I was assigned the song 'I Was Here'. I didn't know this song but when I first played it on my computer, it really moved me. The lyrics are so beautiful, powerful, yet simple. I felt in love with the song! This song is really about, I think, living your dreams, doing what you want to do and becoming the person you want to become. There is also the fear of not being remembered or being remembered for the wrong reason. And I think it's a struggle that many people deal with nowadays. In my picture, I wanted to translate those lyrics and the fact that time is ticking fast, that you have to grow up and be who you want to be. Life is sometimes blurry and sometimes clear, sometimes hard and sometimes easy. I really hope you like it the way I do! :)" - Moriarty

I've been waxing philosophical lately and it all boils down to this: when my life is finished, I want the world to know I existed, that I made the world a better place, that I made an impact on someone's life. Not for selfish purposes, but to know that my life had meaning, and made someone else's life better too. I'm still working on this, but for now, know that I am here. Perhaps I'll meet you some day.

What a cool musically challenged set of lyrics! I have wanted to find a tunnel somewhat like this since I started messing around with a camera, and this one was way cooler than any of the tunnels and shots I had imagined. I ran around out of town today and enjoyed just having a partial day off. It's nice to get out and drive for a bit, even if it wasn't exactly what I had hoped for :P I seem to always have a wee bit too high of expectations for my life :) It will be good to work for awhile tonight and then blast out early to grab my guy and go with friends to Cowboys and Aliens, woohoo! I hope the seats rumble and the screen thunders!!

Hoskin's Farm
In 1778 during the Revolutionary War with Britain, Joseph and Hannah Hoskins then living in Pennsylvania fled south to avoid the conflict, setting up a farm on 150 acres in Guilford County, North Carolina.
Little did they realize that in March, 1781, the war would come directly to them during the Battle of Guilford Court House where American forces under Major General Nathanael Green and British forces under Commander Lord Charles Cornwallis fought with Hoskin's fence lines delineating the opposing forces.
Their farm and surrounding battle area are now a federal park and serve as a memorial to the battle, the farmhouse preserved and listed on the National Registry. The Hoskins survived, Joseph later becoming Sheriff of Guildford County in 1797.
