Airbus A320-214(WL), AMS 03.09.2019.

HB-IVF : Fokker 100 : Swissair

Named "Sion".

This Fokker became I-ALPS of Alpi Eagles in 1996.

Taken on the new-to-me Praktica IVF and its Meritar at the start of a lane that runs into Holymoorside. It struck me as to how close the composition is to the one taken in 1967 of Cromartie Street in Stoke, different weather and subject by same shape.

Taken with the Praktica IVF I bought recently to remember working with the humble Meritar back in the 1960s. The accompanying photograph was taken in 1966.

Minolta Autometer IVF / Epson

When I posted the B&W pictures of Bletchley Park I thought about another recent project. Some months ago I bought a new (to me) 50mm APO Summicron for my Leica rangefinders and I learned about this lens and how it works by using nothing but that lens. That took me back to thinking about my first camera, a Praktica IV with a lowly Meritar 50mm and I used that and nothing else. I've mislaid the original so I recently bought another one with a Praktica IVF and I thought I would show some photographs taken with that and some taken with the original in 1966. This lens was never seen as something that beat the giants but it did a good job. Here is a photograph of Florence Colliery in Stoke on Trent taken in 1966 and the daffodils were taken in 2025.

Built for the 2016 Lego Military Annual Build Competition.

Holds the required 3 crew and 7 dismounts, and 13 studs wide.

Wow, it's been a while hasn't it...

Former Canadian built Bolingbroke restored as Blenheim IVF L8841/QY-C of 254 Squadron, RAF Coastal Command (Civil Registration G-BPIV.) Seen at Duxford in the late 1990s.

So I've fallen off the face of Second Life. Never fear, I'm still alive, but have been busy with a little one.

After six years of trying and battling infertility, we finally were able to get pregnant via IVF. Solanar Arai and I welcomed our beautiful son into the world on September 30, 2016. Since then, we've been busy learning how to keep a little one alive.

No PhotoShop, just some post processing.

i hope and pray that we get at least one good one!

First flight: September 12, 1988…(c/n 11254), delivered to Swissair on September 16, 1988 as HB-IVF, to Alpi Eagles in July 1996, G-CGSS (Aircraft Maintenance Services) in October 2010, then reregistered as N284AP with Bank of Utah in November 2010, ZS-GAV with AirQuarius in May 2011, broken up in July 2013 at BRI...

Todays thrift-store find is this very pretty Canon IVF kit. This is my first foray int the exciting world of LTM rangefinders, and looks to be a very nice example. Clean inside and out, the shutter looks good to my untrained eye, but the slow speeds may not be working. The RF patch is crisp and bright and the viewfinder is clean and clear, but the coupled rangefinder does not seem to be working

The Serenar 50/1.8 lens also looks excellent. There is a tiny bit of oil on the aperture blades, and the aperture is very stiff, but it does open and close. The glass looks perfect. Also included was the original owners manual as well as the warranty card (from 1954), and some vintage lens tissue, as well as a lipstick-style camel-hair brush. And for some reason, the lens cap for a Rollei TLR (anyone need one?), and the manual for the Norwood Director light meter that I bought earlier this week.

After four years of trying to conceive, two miscarriages, one year of accupunture, and yet another year of all kinds of self administered daily fertility shots we finally had success with Invitro(IVF). This is a picture of my son at 12 cells. Not many of us can say we have a baby picture us at this little ;-) I think he is gorgeous!!

This was posted last year, but I've heard from many women that this photo has inspired them, so I thought I'd move it up in the hopes that maybe more woman might see it. Besides, this still gives me chills to see. :-)

i should be feeling sad for my lost babies or something, but all i can think is how bloody unfair it all is and wtf have i done to deserve this?
