one of those "i think i may toss this out, oh wait i'm pretty sure i can rescue it, yes they are awesome" kind of projects.
background:
1.the kids carved into styro foam to create abstract line designs.
2. they used water based markers to color the entire styro surface.
3. they dampened a piece of paper w/ a sponge.
4. they stamped their styro printing block on the page.
they looooved doing this. we did the stamping/printing for 2 days in fact. on the 2nd day, they chopped their print blocks up and rearranged their original designs.
then they sat in the "class folder" for several weeks. (until i figured out what we were going to do w/ them!)
for the word, they used sharpie on white paper and designed their own font w/ an inspirational verb....yes, we had to do a mini language arts lesson as well. then they mounted their word on black and then on the bkgd.
they are starting a poetry unit next week w/ their classroom teacher and these will make perfect covers for their collection of poems for their book. :)
I've swallowed your Sacred Heart.
I've died a thousand times for everyone else's sins.
Before you burn me at the stake, this collage of photos was put together for this week's deathscape competition.
i'm edgy. ha.
