Have you ever met a spy? It’s statistically pretty likely that you may have done and not known about it. It’s the nature of the job. Hence all the secrecy. Lady Penelope Partridge here (not her real name obviously) is a spyhunter. She prowls the country seeking ne’er-do-wells and is good at her job too. The best in the business. But it’s a tough life involving subterfuge, deception and assumed identities. Much like being an artist really.

Do you know what’s also tough? Shading. And photography in a confined space. But we do our best. So just remember if Lady P comes a-knocking then it’s already too late.

Cheers

Cambridge, January 2025

sehr nett, danke Herr Nase!

Cambridge University Library, 2 January 2025.

Shot on for 13 years expired Kodak 200. That's where the funny look comes from, I guess.

A building in downtown Elgin.

010/

I guess there are a couple of ways to look at this..

On one hand, it's a fairly ominous swirl of storm clouds extending towards the ground, making one wonder if it is the genesis of a twister..

On the other hand, when I look at it, I see a gigantic face looming over the houses, peering at the ground below. The expression is enigmatic - neither smiling nor scowling - simply looking.

And then there's the cloud entering the frame from the upper right.. Is it a clenched fist, about to pound someone into oblivion?

Or is it a companion, leaning close, and whispering to the figure, urging mercy for the mere mortals below..
