I'm not sure if 'irony' is the tag of the street artist that completed this mural or if it has some other significance that I'm not getting.

Irony

"Oh, can you see the irony?

Oh, can you see the irony?

And nobody's perfect under the surface

They'll never see that side of me

Oh, can you see the irony?"

Taken at Lana (Now Closed)

Sweet Irony is a little cafƩ located within LANA, somewhere. Travelers said they were weary on the first encounter due to the various potions, plenty of books and just the overall atmosphere of the cafƩ felt 'slightly' suspicious. Not to mention 6 pairs of eyes following you around everywhere you decide to sit, the barista suggested not to make eye contact with them. However, the travelers did enjoy that they could grab a book while having a coffee break with abundance of sugary treats and savory for those who are salty. :p

P.S. Because I can't keep my hands to myself, I ended up messing up and making a cafƩ. Something a little more crazier than my first Moon CafƩ. This one was inspired when Bambi asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I believe in magic. ;)

Let the rain pour and bring me to life.

All that’s left of this old Anglesey copper mine is twisted metal and crumbling brickwork from its industrial past.

a shade damaged by nature. Misibis Bay, Philippines.

In every man's life we had each our own strife and numerous difficulties. The history of the world is like a magic lantern that displays to us, in light pictures upon the dark ground of the present, how benefactors of mankind, the martyrs of genius, wandered along the thorny road of honor.

On mighty wings the spirit of history floats through the ages, and shows -- giving courage and comfort, and awakening gentle thoughts -- on the dark nightly background, but in gleaming pictures, the thorny path of honor, which does not, like a fairy tale, end in brilliancy and joy here on earth, but stretches out beyond all time, even into eternity!

Back in September of 2014, CSX was on a leasing spree. Decatur Subdivison trains Q593/594 were no exception. After Amtrak’s 393 cleared Tuscola, CSX’s daily eastbound Q594 got a clear signal and departed for points east. I was lucky to catch up to him just east of town, where a pair of FURX GP38-2s led the show. Going forward to nearly 10 years later, this same scene could’ve been achieved with the DREI and their leased FURX units (now replaced) taking the reins of this subdivision.

Doug Harrop Photography • November 4, 1979

Mr. Harrop happened to be in Ogden, Utah and captured this tragic derailment caused by a runaway. If you look closely, a Southern Pacific caboose is crushed beneath Union Pacific 25683.

This shop in Williams. Arizona had a row of cowboy cigar store statues. But nary an Indian even though the shop sold native arts and crafts.

Nothing about "no shooting". The sign states "no dumping", while just over the edge of the hill behind the sign is a refrigerator and other discarded items.

Message in a bottle.

Please note I am not the artist of this work, merely the photographer.

Irony is when something turns out, quite opposite of what it seems to be on the surface. The World is apparently full of ironys.

The dazzling hues of this blue ocean provide enough warmth for the peaceful people who preferred to habitat these isolated islands.

(Originally meant as transit points for migrating birds crossing Indian Ocean enroute to the Sub-Saharan Africa.)

Whether this isolation meant comfort, convenience or hindrance to development, is up to, whoever is interpreting them.

For the past Thousands of years, one thing though, has remained constant.

These islands have always been ruled upon, with an iron fist... by one, selfish, incompetent Thug. (Be it King, Maharajah, President... whatever name he chose to call himself.)

One after another.

The islands smallness, isolation and the peoples ignorance of happenings of the outside World must have meant a blessing, to whoever was at the control.

The islands smallness, isolation and the peoples ignorance of happenings of the outside World must have also meant a most obscene obstacle for the islanders... and reason to remain as they always have been.

Poor.

Earlier this year, a UN initiated survey surprised everyone... when majority of islanders confessed, as to being unaware of what 'basic human rights' meant.

Earlier this year... Authorities also made a promise to allow operation of radio stations (to educate people) within the Country, in 'near' future.

Irony.

Only you photographers who have been to Skye and seen the beauty of Elgol may appreciate the sense of humour of this crofter...

And what of little Gemma?

Away from the UK we are in Norway at the moment seeing family over the Christmas/New Year holidays

These guys are also away at the moment

Many are In the UK and away from the sometimes harsh Norwegian winter

In other words our paths have crossed., they are where we would regard as home and we are where they would probably regard as home

A slight irony as we love photographing owls

But never mind., those eagles are mightily impressive!

Its Autumn. The leaves fall, trees shed old barks, flowers wither, greens go mute. Yet we say, Autumn is in bloom ! A part of nature falls and dies and loses its identity, and we find it beautiful ! Autumnal ironies :)

not sure about this, but it was a beautiful day today!

This overwhelming sense of being connected to the world.

― Joseph Heller, Catch-22

The irony to this shot is that I spent 6 days down in Louisiana and Mississippi, parts of three days on the CPKC "Meridian Speedway" and never got a road train with a KCS leader (1 CP, 2 UP, 2 NS) The only KCS leaders I got were on locals and switch jobs, for which I certainly have no complaints. On my second day back home though, here comes NS 12Q right at the beginning of my lunch hour with a pair of Belles on the point. Go figure! Toledo, OH 4/5/2024

The most colourful memories of my life are now being registered without you being in them... and it cuts me.
