Last night I was shooting Seton vs Mercy soccer game and got to talking to a guy who has been a sports photographer for a long time. I was I awe of his gear!!! He was cool enough to offer to let me put his 70-200mm 2.8 IS on my little rebel and all I can say is #geargoals! It can be intimidating to go out and shoot shoulder to shoulder with "pros" when I have a simple 7 year old Rebel and a 10 year old Sony a200 that was my very first camera I at the time was only able to get because of my awesome aunt-still greatful to her for that! It's super intimidating bc most ppl don't get how beyond basic my old camera bodies and kit lens are, but being near guys that are the real deal can make u wanna get outta their way and sink into a shadow. Unlike the average person, THEY know gear. They know I'm at best amateur with my kit zoom 5.6 kit lens, while they haul their prof gear and bazooka lens around! But this dude was so cool and actually told me I'm inspiring to him! Bc I am still out there learning, using what I DO have, he actually had somehow heard of ME locally and seen my stuff on Flickr! Such a cool guy and so awesome using his lens, even if only for a few shots at halftime! Fueled me even more, I'll get this lens #watchme!!! I have a knack for being an underdog, even when I played sports myself...and I wouldn't have it any other way!
