Here the negative is held in the same holder as in flic.kr/p/hKyaCR, but is supported and aligned by some PVC irrigation pipe which is glued to a 52/62 step up ring and attached to the end of my Micro Nikkor 105 AiS with extension tube. As before, light is provided by flash, bounced off a white door. The pipe joint allows me to change the negative to lens distance slightly and twist to ensure horizontal/horizon alignment.
Because of the rather long focal length, especially at this magnification, a 55 or 60mm Micro lens would be better as it would reduce the overall length and make it less unwieldy.
The next version might include better support and adjustment features, but for now it allows me to very quickly digitize films.
Confuses everyone with my exif info indicating completely the wrong camera, lens and flash settings - haha
