Quickly grabbed my Nikon 400mm F/3.5 AI-S and swapped the Nikon-EOS lens adapter when I finally figured out what the screeching noise was after I'd finished up the weed eating in the back yard. Had to crank the ISO a bit since the light was disappearing. But the Canon can handle it pretty decently!
