On this trip I did all my navigation with an iPad using apps like Hunter Theodolite and Topo Maps Canada, with pre-loaded maps for the river system. This worked quite well on a previous trip, but this time I had frequent problems with getting no satellite lock. I had also a Dell Mini 10 with MacGPS Pro app and a GPS USB stick for backup. And of course the traditional paper maps, which I just used for referencing previous campsites.
