One of the wildest cars ever made in real life has just been reconstructed in Lego…I present to you Ed “Big Daddy” Roth’s Mysterion! Originally built in 1962, this car is part show rod, part dragster, part flying saucer…and all around crazy swingin’ cool, Daddy-o! It sports an Ed Roth signature bubble top, a completely out-of-this-world asymmetrical front end and not one, but two chromed out Ford 406 Engines! The famous Larry Watson finished off this interstellar ride with a gleaming candy yellow paintjob. This Lego reconstruction was built for the Who‘s Your Big Daddy build challenge over at LUGNuts in which we were honor the famous designers who have shaped the automotive world. Can you dig it, baby?

The Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles was a location dressed to play NASA's rocket silo in the 2014 movie "Interstellar" (top). The shooting took place in the huge six level lobby of the hotel. Lucky me, I was attending a function at the hotel on one of the days the filming took place. This lobby is a maze of six levels of bridges, stairways, walkways, and elevators, so my knowledge of the exact areas that the shooting took place proved to be valuable for my photo hunt.
The hotel is located at 404 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles.
