SOUTH CHINA SEA (Oct. 14, 2016) A MH-60S Helicopter, assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron (HSC) 25, attached to the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6), takes off from the flight deck of the guided-missile destroyer USS Decatur (DDG 73). Bonhomme Richard is the flagship for the Bonhomme Richard Expeditionary Strike Group (BHR ESG) and is participating in interoperability drills between the Pacific Surface Action Group (PAC SAG) and BHR ESG. Bungalso converses with U.S.service members about hospital care during a medical side-by-side during Pacific Partnership 2021. Pacific Partnership, now in its 16th iteration, brings nations together to prepare during calm periods to effectively respond in times of crisis. Each year, the mission team works collectively with host and partner nations to enhance regional interoperability and disaster response capabilities, increase security and stability in the region, and foster new and enduring friendships in the Indo-Pacific. U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew D. Bell straps on a power hawk rescue system battery pack while explaining its capabilities to Filipino firefighters at Clark Field, Philippines, April 8. Marine firefighters demonstrated the capabilities of their rescue equipment to Filipino firefighters to better prepare both militaries for potential accidents.
