After walking about 3 kilometers through forests, Paratroopers of Company A, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, made their way from the air assault infiltration location and tactically moved on foot through thick vegetation. Their objective was to conduct a deliberate attack on the military operations on an urban terrain site known as Haaslat Village at Hohenfels Training Area Aug. 28. Exercise Saber Junction 2014 includes participants from the U.S., NATO allies and European security partners, conducting unified land operations at the 7th Army's Joint Multinational Training Command's Hohenfels Training Area. The exercise trains units in the simultaneous combination of offensive, defensive and stability operations while improving international interoperability, commitment to NATO and allied nations and strategic access to critical areas within the European Command's area of responsibility. For the First time, a UK C-17 Globemaster has been piloted by a joint RAF and RCAF crew. The mission was in support of Ex POLAR PUMA and OP BOXTOP and demonstrated the interoperability between the nations as one of our closest allies.
The Royal Air Force are joining the Royal Canadian Air Force on their twice annual resupply mission to ALERT, Canada called OP BOXTOP. This mission provides a vital fuel lifeline in order for the base to carry out operations and to survive.
Alert, Nunavut, is the world's northernmost permanently inhabited place, located on Ellesmere Island just 817 km from the North Pole. It serves as a strategic Canadian Armed Forces military base and atmospheric research station with a rotating, temporary population of 50–100 people. It operates in extreme Arctic conditions, including 136 days of polar night.

NEWPORT, RI – The U.S. Naval War College (NWC) holds a pinning ceremony for international students June 11, 2023 hosted at Salve Regina University’s Ochre Court. The ceremony, presided over by NWC President Rear Admiral Shoshana Chatfield, saw more than one hundred students from seventy-three countries recognized for their achievements while assigned to NWC. The students were part of the various international programs of study offered by NWC including: Naval Command College (NCC), Naval Staff College (NSC), or the Maritime Security and Governance Staff Course (MSGSC). Established in 1884, NWC informs today’s decision-makers and educates tomorrow’s leaders by providing educational experiences and learning opportunities that develop their ability to anticipate and prepare strategically for the future, strengthen the foundations of peace, and create a decisive warfighting advantage.
