The Theatre Equipment Support Battalion recently held an Interoperability Exercise (IOX) at Camp Bastion, Afghanistan. It was a high profile event attended by UK, U.S, Danish, and Estonian participants and by members of the Afghan National Army (ANA).
The exercise demonstrated how vehicles are recovered during Combat Logistic Patrols (CLPs) in the event of breakdown, being bogged down or being disabled by enemy action. CLP’s are often a multi-national affair; hence the requirement to recover vehicles is essential. This exercise was an opportunity to demonstrate multi-national procedures and ensure compliance between the different nations.
Training officer Lt. Col. Ibrahim Bindul, with the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations provided two full days of training on UN doctrine. More than 50 staff members from 16 nations were in attendance for the training. Exercise Western Accord 14 is a U.S. Africa Command-sponsored, U.S. Army Africa-hosted annual joint training partnership exercise between the United States, the Economic Community of West African States and partner nations. The exercise, held in Senegal this year, is designed to increase interoperability between military forces and ensure the common ability to conduct peace operations throughout western Africa. VARPALOTA TRAINING AREA, Hungary - Saker Falcon is a multinational training exercise involving roughly 200 Soldiers from U.S. Army Europe's 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, two Dutch Air Assault battalions, and Hungarian military forces. [F141217] 2014-09-16 attendees at the DChanges 2014 Workshop at ACM DocEng 2014, the ACM Symposium on Document Engineering, held in Fort Collins, Colorado, USA. I loved this workshop. There was lively discussion and connections of common and diverging interests. We were walking around the elephant with our eyes wide open. I learned how valuable it is to sharpen ones thinking by preparing a paper and also to be with and listen to others with kindred interests. I must get out more often.

3rd Squadron, 2d Cavalry Regiment departs Germany via airplane en route to Georgia for Noble Partner 18, July 26, 2018. Noble Partner is a Georgian Armed Forces and U.S. Army Europe cooperatively-led exercise in its fourth iteration. The exercise is intended to support and enhance the readiness and interoperability of Georgia, the U.S. and participating nations during a multinational training operation.
For the First time, a UK C-17 Globemaster has been piloted by a joint RAF and RCAF crew. The mission was in support of Ex POLAR PUMA and OP BOXTOP and demonstrated the interoperability between the nations as one of our closest allies.
The Royal Air Force are joining the Royal Canadian Air Force on their twice annual resupply mission to ALERT, Canada called OP BOXTOP. This mission provides a vital fuel lifeline in order for the base to carry out operations and to survive.
Alert, Nunavut, is the world's northernmost permanently inhabited place, located on Ellesmere Island just 817 km from the North Pole. It serves as a strategic Canadian Armed Forces military base and atmospheric research station with a rotating, temporary population of 50–100 people. It operates in extreme Arctic conditions, including 136 days of polar night.

Marines and Sailors with TF KM20, are conducting engagements in the Republic of Palau from July through September of 2020. Koa Moana, meaning “ocean warrior,” is designed to strengthen and enhance relationships between the U.S. and partner nations/states in the Indo-Pacific region, improve interoperability with local security establishments, and serve as a Humanitarian Assistance Survey Team afloat in support of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command’s strategic and operational objectives. TF KM20 provides a unique opportunity to enhance relationships in the Republic of Palau. The Koa Moana task force has taken extensive measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The health and safety of U.S. service members and Palauan citizens participating in TF KM20 is an enduring priority. Prior to deploying, all exercise members participated in a three-week quarantine. After arriving in Palau, the Marines and Sailors remain quarantined for an additional 14 days. To date, all members deployed as part of TF KM20 tested negative for COVID-19.
