Siempre que hemos visitado el sur este de asia nos hemos encontrado esta misma imagen de montañas de cables de luz, de internet y ves a saber de cuantas cosas más. No quisiera ser operario que tuviera que resolver algún problema. También he de decir que no hemos tenido nunca problemas de luz y internet funciona correctamente.
Whenever we have visited South East Asia we have found this same image of mountains of electricity cables, the internet and you see who knows how many other things. I don't want to be an operator who has to solve a problem. I must also say that we have never had power problems and the internet works correctly.
Sempre que hem visitat el sud est d'Àsia ens hem trobat aquesta mateixa imatge de muntanyes de cables de llum, d'internet i vés a saber quantes coses més. No voldria ser operari que hagués de resoldre algun problema. També he de dir que no hem tingut mai problemes de llum i internet funciona correctament.
Le descriptif qu'on trouve sur internet ne correspond pas vraiment à la réalité du lieu. Sur place on voit les ruines d'une chapelle située dans une propriété privée et je n'ai pas vu de donjon roman. Il était peut-être situé plus loin dans la propriété. De nombreux étangs parsèment les parages qui sont très marqués par des vestiges médiévaux. Une visite à refaire plus longuement dans le cadre d'une randonnée pour profiter et explorer les lieux.

This historic site at Promontory Summit, Utah Territory, was the locale of one of the most important accomplishments of the 19th century.
On May 10, 1869, officials of the Central Pacific Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad met here to drive four symbolic spikes (two gold), celebrating the completion of the first transcontinental railroad.
The Last Spike Ceremony is reenacted every year on the May 10th anniversary.

In a wild, remote and somewhat forgotten part of the U.S. Southwest, Hovenweep National Monument contains six separate prehistoric ruined villages dating from the Pueblo period of the mid thirteenth century.
The monument spans the Utah-Colorado border, though the largest and best preserved site is in Utah - the land hereabouts is similar to Colorado's Mesa Verde National Park but on a smaller scale, with flat, bushy mesas split by steep-sided, quite narrow ravines. And the settlements typically consist of several small ruins on or just below the rim around the head of a canyon.
Although in some cases little remains beyond a pile of stones or low wall remnants, the interest and appeal is enhanced by the general remoteness and peaceful nature of the surroundings.
The name Hovenweep, a Paiute word meaning deserted valley, was bestowed on this region by explorer and photographer William Jackson in 1874, and the site became a national monument in 1923.
On the Internet, you can find information that this address is the Corporate Center of the Donbas Industrial Union Corporation in Kyiv.
On the wall near the door, you can see (only by increasing the size of the photo, the text is not readable from the street) a board with the inscription "Public Reception of the People's Deputy of Ukraine."
The entire courtyard of the estate is separated from the street by a high cast-iron grate, which also separates the building at Yaroslavov Val, 3 (the former house of Baron Steingel) from the sidewalk - and this is the residence of the Indian ambassador. I generally believed, until today, that this is a single territory whose resident is India and the sculptures are related to Indian culture.

На стіні біля дверей можна розгледіти (лише збільшивши розмір фото, з вулиці текст не читається) дошку з написом «Громадська приймальня Народного депутата Украіни» (прізвище депутата відсутнє).
Все подвірʼя садиби від вулиці відділяє висока чавунна решітка, яка також відділяє від тротуару будівлю Ярославів Вал, 3 (колишній будинок барона Штейнгеля) - а це вже резиденція посла Індії. Я взагалі вважав, до сьогодні, що це цілісна територія резидентом якої є Індія і скульптури мають відношення до індійської культури.
Ліворуч від цієї будівлі знаходиться особняк 1861 року, який було побудовано на замовлення Сергія Петровича Алферєва, лікаря-тарапевта, професора Київського університету. Автор проекту - Федір Федорович Голованов.
1877 року професор продає садибу барону Магнусу Штейнгелю. І на замовлення барона архітектор Олександр Шіле переробляє парковий фасад будинку. Також прибудовується одноповерхова крамниця, в якій відкривається винний магазин Штейнгеля.
I bought some Minox APX-25 film, expired 1984, to be used with my Minox B.
I developed with Rodinal 1:50, 10 minutes, as I had read good results on internet with that combination.
The negatives turned out thick, with very little contrast and many artefacts.
This picture looks so old......
and I really like it:-).
I would be happy to receive advices on how to get better results from this film. I still have two left.

Je publie en avant-première cette photo prise lors de ma 4ème rando en Haute Tarentaise. Mais je ne sais pas si j'en publierai d'autres un jour (malgré quelques candidates que j'ai repérées ...).
France. Alpes. Savoie. Haute Tarentaise. Massif des Alpes Grées. Photo prise lors d'un aller-retour au Rocher de la Davie (3157m), au départ du parking du Saut. Après un début sur un sentier balcon, l'ascension offre tout du long un magnifique point de vue sur le Cirque de Tignes, devant les géants de la Vanoise que sont la Grande Motte et la Grande Casse. J'ai effectué cette rando hors sentier guidé par un grand randonneur, qui connaît la Haute Tarentaise comme sa poche. Un compagon de luxe qui m'a permis de dépasser la barre des 3000m pour la toute 1ère fois de ma vie ! Un GRAND MERCI à lui !!!
Photo prise peu après avoir quitté le sentier balcon et avoir commencé la raide montée hors sentier balisé. On peut y voir Tignes et son lac au creux d'un superbe cirque devant le toit de la Vanoise, à savoir la Grande Casse(3855m). On lui voit peu de neige mais son glacier principal est exactement à l'opposé, en face sud-ouest. Sur sa gauche, on voit la Grande Motte(3653m) et ses différents glaciers, qui sont tous situés en face nord.
NB : Comme c'était la canicule, nous avons pris notre temps et nous avons passé environ 7 heures au-delà de 2500m dont environ 2h30 au-delà de 3000m. Et comme je ne suis pas habitué à ces altitudes avec moins d'oxygène, j'ai accusé un gros coup de fatigue quand nous sommes redescendus sur le sentier balcon. 😂

Вікна великого читального залу. Моє улюблене місце біля третього вікні зліва. В епоху без Інтернету, майже кожні вихідні впродовж 5-ти академічних років, я дивився на світ очима славетних авторів крізь призму іхніх книжок.
У ту забуту щасливу епоху без Інтернету, це була Державна республіканська бібліотека УРСР імені КПРС.
Після проголошення незалежності бібліотека стала називатися Державною бібліотекою України, а 1994 року, згідно з Указом Президента, вона набула статусу Національної парламентської бібліотеки України.

Enfin, l'électricité est revenue hier et l'internet aujourd'hui. Je peux enfin partager certaines des meilleures images et Lifers de ce voyage. Voici ce fabuleux Pic à poitrine rouge qui était sur ma Wish List.
Je ne suis pas parvenu à trouver ce superbe mâle seul, c'était ma toute dernière journée sur L'Île de Vancouver. En cette fin d'après-midi avant le grand Road Trip vers l'est du Canada. Comme pour plusieurs de mes trophées photographiques que j'ai ramené de l'île de Vancouver c'est avant tout grâce à ma merveilleuse guide et amie qui l'a finalement déniché après mainte et mainte recherche de sa part avec moi durant mon court séjour. Le voici donc ce fabuleux Pic.
Je ne remercierai jamais assez mon amie pour sa grande persévérance et dévotion lors de mon séjour. Merci beaucoup.

Finally, the electricity came back yesterday after 6 days and the internet today. I can finally share some of the best finds and Lifers like this fabulous Red-breasted Sapsucker that was on my Wish List on that trip.
I did not find this superb male alone, it was my very last day on Vancouver Island, by the end of the afternoon before the big road trip to Eastern Canada. Like many of my trophies pictures of Vancouver Island it's my wonderful guide and friend who finally unearthed it for me after many and many searches on her part with me during my short stay. So here it is this fabulous Sapsucker.
I cannot thank my friend enough for her great perseverance and devotion during my stay. Thanks a lot.

Up on a hill beyond Glass Beach is a cemetery that dates back to the 19th century, a burial ground for workers at the McBryde Sugar Company's plantation. The small cemetery overlooking the ocean is filled with gravestones in Japanese and English that was only recently rediscovered.
