After the disappointment of 6E48 having only one wagon on this morning I headed south to Penrith with the intentions of going to Yanwath for the 6K05 & this 56. So I hopped on the train and got off at Penrith although I could see the cloud was much more dense further south and so ideally northbound would be better. I didn't know of anywhere north of Penrith within walking distance so I said to myself I'll just keep walking north following the line and hope for an opening in the palisade. That is exactly what I came across here with this lovely little spot between Calthwaite & Penrith. Thankfully the palisade hasn't reached this far yet so I took the opportunity and bagged both the 6K05 & this 56 in bling.
Both shots here were really lucky to be honest, almost getting bowled on the 6K05 by a matter of less than 10 seconds and well this one was almost blobbed out by cloud, but a minute and a half clearing just opened up at the right time. It is 56094 leading the 6M38 Ravenstruther-Longport, running 77 early after just missing out the majority of it's booked stop in Plumpton loop, which it never sticks to.
