Please enjoy a look at Fairview Avenue in the South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle facing southbound towards downtown. In the center background, the Hyatt Regency Hotel illuminates the entire eastern side of its building with the letters "BLM". It's one of the most grand and conspicuous displays of solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement in the City of Seattle.
Throughout multiple neighborhoods in Seattle -- from single family homes, apartment residences, and small businesses to high schools, universities, and major corporations -- signage in support of the Black Lives Matter movement has proliferated widely.

The Plaza de la Virgen, located in the historic center of the city, houses the Cathedral, the Basilica of the Virgen de los Desamparados and the Palace of the Generalitat Valenciana.
For more than a thousand years, the Puerta de los Apóstoles de la Catedral has held the Tribunal de las Aguas every Thursday of the year at 12:00 noon. This court is the oldest existing legal institution in Europe, and probably also the oldest in the world.
The fountain in the center of the Plaza de la Virgen represents the Turia River.

This institution bears the name of the first university in Ukraine founded by Metropolitan Petro Mohyla, a famous Orthodox theologian and Enlightenment figure of XVIII century. It was disbanded during the Soviet era and the building housed a Naval academy. The university was reborn when Ukraine became independent in 1991.

The Junkers Ju 52 (nicknamed Tante Ju ("Auntie Ju") and Iron Annie) was a German transport aircraft manufactured from 1932 to 1945.
It saw both civilian and military service during the 1930s and 1940s. In a civilian role, it flew with over 12 air carriers including Swissair and Deutsche Luft Hansa as an airliner and freight hauler. In a military role, it flew with the Luftwaffe as a troop and cargo transport and briefly as a medium bomber.
The Ju 52 continued in postwar service with military and civilian air fleets well into the 1980s.

Newburgh is a large stone-built village on the wide sandy estuary of the River Ythan, close to the point at which it is bridged by the A975. he origins of the village date back to 1261 when a charter was drawn up by Lord Sinclair establishing a settlement here. A little later it acquired the Chapel of the Holy Rood and St Thomas the Martyr in Inch Road. The Chapel is long gone, but the Udny Family Mausoleum which formed part of it can still be seen in the Holyrood Cemetery. art of the name of the original chapel also survives, in the imposing Holyrood Chapel on Main Street. This was originally built as a school in 1838, and the clock tower was added in 1892. The village itself developed as a centre for salmon fishing, and later as a small port. By the 1850s there was a steady traffic of boats and barges calling at the newly built quays on the River Ythan. And by the 1880s there was a small fleet of sailing vessels based here, alongside a dozen resident fishing boats. A little earlier, in 1828, Newburgh became the first port in Scotland to have a Lifeboat Station, then called the Shipwreck Institution. The RNLI, as the Institution became, based a lifeboat in Newburgh until 1961, when it moved to Peterhead. In the 1950s Newburgh remained an active port with quays and a mill. Much of its economic base had declined by 1970, but the corner was turned - as with so many settlements in north east Scotland - with the discovery of oil under the North Sea. Newburgh, with its attractive setting and within commuting range of both Aberdeen and Peterhead rapidly became a desirable place to live. Today's Newburgh is an active and thriving settlement. At its centre is the Udny Arms Hotel providing accommodation, great views over the River Ythan, and an excellent restaurant. Beyond the River Ythan lies one of the oddest landscapes in Britain. Forvie Sands comprises an area of dunes some three miles long and a mile wide. At its heart are the remains of Forvie Kirk, built in the 1100s. This is all that can now be seen of the village of Forvie, once a thriving community but buried by shifting dunes during a storm in 1413. www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/newburgh/newburgh/

Shifting sands and seabirds The stark beauty of empty sand dunes is complemented by the call of eider ducks, wafting like gentle gossiping across the Ythan estuary. With the constant shifting of the dunes, layers of history have come and gone, revealing the half buried remains of a twelfth century church. Bird life is plentiful and you can watch the summer acrobatics of diving terns or the determined stabbing of the carrot-coloured beaks of wading oystercatchers.
After being the most terrified by the man looking for us at the abdonded mental institution we had the people take a picture of us to capture how exhausted we were.
The theater in the Belchertown State School for the Feeble-Minded. Established in 1922, this Massachusetts institution was notorious for the inhumane treatment of its patients. It eventually closed in 1992 following a series of lawsuits. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, a large portion of the Belchertown campus is currrently being demolished.

This drone photo, taken as a long-exposure shot over 10 years ago, holds a very special meaning for me. It evokes memories and tells stories—not only about Karlsruhe but also about my personal journey as a photographer. With the advancements in image processing over the past decade, I felt it was time to give this photo a fresh and modern look without losing its original magic.
The photo showcases Karlsruhe in all its glory: the majestic palace at its center, perfectly embodying the city’s history and its fan-shaped layout. It bridges the past and the present. Remarkably, this photo remains unique to this day—no one has created a comparable long-exposure drone shot of this iconic scene.
The creation of this image holds a symbolic significance for me. As a young boy, I learned in school about Karlsruhe’s history and its unique city design. Years later, almost unconsciously, I transformed that story into this photograph.
Beyond its aesthetic beauty, the photo also highlights significant landmarks of German democracy and science. On the right, nestled in greenery, you can see the Federal Constitutional Court (Bundesverfassungsgericht), Germany’s highest court and a pillar of its legal system. On the left is the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), one of Germany’s leading institutions for science and research. In the center stands the Regional Administrative Office (Regierungspräsidium), surrounded by numerous other government buildings.
This photo is not just a view of Karlsruhe; it is a tribute to the city’s history, architecture, and importance.
