Marine services provider James Fisher Subtech (JF Subtech), part of James Fisher and Sons plc, has signed a charter agreement with Østensjø Rederi AS for the exclusive use of its inspection, repair, and maintenance (IRM) and construction vessel, Edda Savanah.
JF Subtech will start using the vessel in April 2023 for work in the North and Irish Seas on IRM projects for JF Subtech’s customers, utilizing remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) and multiple diving methods.
"The charter comes as the UK’s offshore energy industry faces supply chain crunches, allowing JF Subtech to be agile and responsive to customers’ changing needs at a time when vessel availability within the industry is constrained. The Edda Savanah
The vessel was built in 2017 and is currently undergoing internal reconfiguration, which will be completed by the end of March. It is around 97 meters long, has DP2 capabilities, and can accommodate 100 passengers.

I captured this shot of Northlink Ferry Hjaltland back in June 2019.
I tried to time the shot as the ship sailed past the war memorial at Footdee with the Viking touching it’s side, this shot is the closest I got to the vision I had in my mind.
I posted the shot along with a few others I took that day to a FB group that I am a member of , another member who resides in Footdee edited the shot removing the cars parked at the left hand side of the shot and the street lamps that irritated me as they ruined the vision I had of the shot I had hoped to achieve .
This is the edited shot, it’s as close to the vision I had that day and I love it , thanks to Jim Corbett of Footdee and his editing skills.

The Fugro Scout is a Fit-for-purpose designed and constructed geotechnical drilling vessel that provides a stable platform capable of operating independently in remote regions around the world.
The design of the Fugro Scout allows integrated investigation methods to be deployed during one survey program.
