ABOUT QTARGETS
Preamble:
QTargets ART is a social initiative by Ukrainian couple artist Andrii Chernovil and curator Nadiia Chernovil based in Doha
(Qatar). It’s a not-for-profit
art project without any sponsorship looking for partnership from founda-
tions, galleries, museums, curators, the creative com- munity or service providers
in the art world, to support
the project in a different locations around the world.
About the Artist
Andrii (Abhinava) Chernovil (b.
20.03.1977, Odessa, Ukraine)
From 2010 signed works under the
pseudonym Abhinava.
Graduated Odessa State Art College in 2000.
Since 2014 has worked in Doha, Qatar, as an artist and sculptor for social collections and private commissions. In 2016 founded the social movement QTargets Art based on the concept ‘inspiration from people to peo- ple’.
QTargets Art is a platform for people of all ages and backgrounds to participate in a symbolic project to- gether. The project aims to creatively express individual messages of peace addressed to future generations through symbolic sports targets integrated into the artworks.
In QTargets an artist recognizes a target as symbolic of achieving a goal. The use of a shooting target on which beautiful messages of peace are written by hand, and then painted as art works, seeks to dispel the stereotype that a tarter is a way of expressing aggression.
In this project the target is transformed to focus on peace and beauty through works of art. The artist has invited all participants to answer the question, “what
is your positive message of peace?” All messages are written in their native language which only adds to the personalization of the message.
Kindness - art infused all with love, acceptance and compassion.
Kindness to our neighbors and towards the Earth.
Collective Action - Each participant or messenger is connected to all the others, past and future. Art finds solutions to challenges when we instill a sense of inclu- sion in every person. Each visitor of to the exhibition be- comes a part of the huge art project. The project is inter- active. All messengers are able to locate their message in the collection of artworks by a special number and
#hashtag of the location or event where it was written. Art is able to save these positive messages for the ages and let people leave their fingerprints on history.
Relationships - These have the power to change lives and our world. The artist tries to engage more signifi-
cantly with others, with the belief that systemic positive change will follow. The message
from the artist is “art is a unique lan- guage which all people understand
without translation but there are words and deep meaning if only
you could read and feel it.” SENSE OF BELONGING
Creating artworks with people’s positive messages: the artist believes that creating a sense of belonging is instrumental in ensuring that we continue to make strides in advancing the
quality of life for every member of our community.
The aim is to go beyond tradition- al boundaries and relationships to
ensure that each individual has a sense that he or she is genuinely an active part
of cultural art life. The QTargets projects are practical, innovative and joyful expressions of this
belief. What galleries and museums curate, messengers can create.
Catalog details:
There are several sections which the artist would like to divide by series:
1 The Social Artworks series is compiled from guest messages at various project exhibitions (London, Ukraine, India, Qatar, USA etc.).
2 The artworks of the series Happy and Sad Faces of People around the World are painted upon targets by Andrii Chernovil. This has the purpose of reflecting on what future we choose for our children and what each of us does for this.
3 Large canvases with the images with targets as symbols of the achievement of goals.
4 Small Targets collection of meaningful drawings and graphics on the small size target paper with the images of categories of personal aims and objectives.
5 TARGETIZM as more than an exhibition title. TAR- GETIZM is a world art movement. Paintings on targets of by artists from around the world who joined the project to spread the positive idea of the target - as a symbol of the achievement of a goal.
In early 2019 about 80 artists created paintings by various techniques, including painting, graphics, and even sculpture and installation.
Whitney visitors transfixed by Hito Steyerl's #FactoryoftheSun, the immersive video installation making its New York debut at @WhitneyMuseum's #Dreamlands exhibition. Berlin-based Steyerl blends dystopian video game worlds with Youtube clips and news reel footage in a style that is as nightmarish as it unmistakably German. 👾 I loved it. 💀 | #hitosteyerl #whitneymuseum #videoart #installationview #nycart #instamuseum #artwatchers #newyork #contemporaryart
The Gate Mall - the most luxurious mall in the heart of the city Doha and SALAM - "CHERNOVOL ART GALLERY" @salam_gallery_qa is inviting visitors to see an artworks on exhibition.
I think it is fair to say there is art before and there is art after, and it is never the same. It flows and changes. It is completely transformed.
Every single country can be proud of it’s artists.
What about meddle east? Arabic culture is so wide and interesting, and it has a wonderful concept of appropriating, reevaluating, and creatively developing the legacy of the cultures of subjugated peoples (including ancient Greek, Hellenistic-Roman, Aramaic, and Iranian) in new ideological and sociopolitical conditions (Islam and the caliphate).
Ukrainian artist Andrii (Abhinava) Chernovil is the one who represents the beauty of Arabic culture and art in Qatar.
The artist was given his amazing power what happens upon chosen people, and he devoted his life to share a beauty of life with others.
The artist is unequivocally genius, he graduated Odessa State Art University named after M.B. Grekov and became a runner-up of Painting Sculpture and Grapic Contest organised by General Consulate of People Republic of China.
He works in just about all medium you can imagine, of course he works in painting and sculpture, ceramic and drawing, watercolor, pastel and so on.
Andrii runs one and only luxurious Art Gallery in the heart of the city Doha where the several of his projects are displayed.
“Inspired by Qatar”
“QTargets- message for peace”.
It’s hard to imagine another artist being that influential, magical, or powerful as the artist in Qatar.
Best regards,
Curator Salam-Chernovol Art Gallery

It's not about the bears, of course, but it kind of is. 🐻 The @NewMuseum's summer blockbuster show, #TheKeeper, is the most unusual thing. It is an exhibition dedicated to the *act* of preserving and collecting objects, artworks, and pretty much anything else. Picking apart that Gollum-like impulse shared by museum curators, hoarders, and everyone's grandma, the show brings together a variety of bizarro imaginary museums, hoarded personal collections, and pedantic archives, each of them somebody's "myyy precioussss." It's low-key brilliant. 👀 No instagram caption can fully describe what if feels like to walk into Partners (The Teddy Bear Project), a vast, meticulous display of over 3,000 discarded, oldtimey family-album photographs assembled by #YdessaHendeles. The criterion for inclusion is simple: the photo has to depict one or more teddy bears. Why? Why not. ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ #newmuseum #contemporaryart #nycart #installationview #lowereastside #moma #artcollector #newyorkart #artbasel #museumhack #artmuseum #museums #hoarders #museumlife #arthistory #instamuseum #instaculture #artexhibition #nyc #newyork #newyorkgallery #ArtWatchers_United #ihavethisthingwithmuseumpics #artlovers #christies #sothebys #teddybearproject
One of the superstars from #MetJerusalem were these five capitals sculpted in Nazareth around 1187 by French sculptors for the Church of the Annunciation, believed by Christians to be the ~room where it happened~ and therefore of incredible value to the ruling Crusaders. The capitals were just about to be installed into the church, when news broke that the Muslim forces of Saladin had re-captured Jerusalem. In haste, the capitals were buried and quickly forgotten about, only to be unexpectedly discovered - perfectly preserved - in 1908, when word of their sensational condition made headlines worldwide. This is the first time the ensemble has left Nazareth. 🙏 | #metmuseum #crusaders #medievalart #romanesque #jerusalem #sculpture #crusader #archaeology #instamuseum #culturegram #holyland #nazareth #historyofart #museummile #artnerd #arthistory

An exhibition of paintings has opened in Lviv, but you will not find any canvases there. Ukrainian artist Andrii (Abhinava) Chernovil makes a striking contrast between love and war in his newest exhibit, "Qtargets - the Message for Peace".
