De acordo com o INPI (Instituto Nacional de Patente Industrial), o modelo já teve diversas versões já registradas no Brasil.

Se o GLB seguir os passos dos outros modelos da marca, possivelmente na versão GLB 180, contará com a motorização 1.6 turbo, capaz de gerar até 156 cv de potência. Já na versão 200, é possível que conte com o 2.0 litro turbo, gerando até 184 cv de potência.

Acredita-se que o GLB 250 equipe a mesma motorização de seu irmão, o GLA 250, que é o 2.0 turbo, com 211 cv de potência.
