How do I do this??
Minute amounts of water, windfall samples - organic and mineral - are collected from the very landscape depicted within each picture - and chemically bonded with the film over 12 months. The result: a developed film and unedited, printed images that are somewhere between a classic photograph and a totally abstract image, depicting the interaction between fundamental chemical elements present at each place & time, representing a more visceral and literal experience of being present in landscapes in a constant state of natural or unnatural flux.

The Heide Museum of Modern Art is a fantastic gallery and garden in Heidelberg, Victoria set on approximately 4 - 5 acres. It consists of an Art Gallery, Cafe and extensive gardens which are fantastic for taking the family to on a lovely day out.

Diese Bilderserie präsentiert die Ausstellung “Schaukelnde Nester” im Blühenden Barock Ludwigsburg, aufgenommen mit der Fujifilm X-H2. Die Ausstellung, die vom 21. März bis 27. April 2025 in der Orangerie stattfindet, zeigt kunstvoll dekorierte Nester, die Geborgenheit und Zusammenhalt symbolisieren. Diese Installation entstand in Kooperation mit der Klimapartnerschaft durch die Deutsch-Ecuadorianische Gesellschaft e.V.
Michael Rawling’s Elemental Series uses Film, and Found Materials at each photograph’s location to create a new type of Landscape artwork.

Tiny amounts of water, organic and mineral samples are collected at the site of the photograph, from the very landscape depicted within the picture - and chemically bonded with the film over 9-12 months. The resulting raw photograph, sometimes figurative, sometimes totally abstract or somewhere in between, is more throughly representative of our real, visceral experience of the elements and our changing landscape. .
