Still it is not without words.
As before the precious mirror,
The form and reflection gaze on each other.
You are not it,
But it is just you.
The song of the precious mirror Samadhi.

Part of my project ›Borderland, Borderless‹ - an inquiry along the former inner-German border.
Even more than 30 years after the reunification of Germany, there is this borderless borderland. All objects photographed form a topography of this particular society.
A book about this project will be published at the end of 2021, this picture however is not in the book.

As I write this Hong Kong is experiencing a bit of turmoil. The photos of protestors I see are quite striking and a reminder that when one's freedom is taken away, trouble is not far behind. But for me, this is Hong Kong. The city is filled with spirited people who are not afraid to stand up and be heard. While Communist China will ultimately win, perhaps positive changes can be made tho' I'm cynical to believe freedom will win.
That said, Hong Kong is a vibrant and vigorous city that rivals New York City with it tall and massive skyscrapers. It is easy to feel dwarfed walking along the streets. You might even feel as if you're in a deep hole as natural light seems so far in the distance. If you reach your hand toward the sky, perhaps you'll touch the light tho' you never seem to touch the light.
I've spent a relatively short amount of time in Hong Kong as the city is always a stopover as I travel to/from Bali. Sometime I'd like to spend an extended period of time in Hong Kong to touch the soul of the city. I want to know all of its curves, quirks, tastes and sounds. Up to now I've experienced the top tourist things to do and this isn't quite so satisfying for me. It's almost as if I've only seen the superficial while I know there is a heart and soul to the city.
As you can view in the video presentation in this blog post, I can only recommend the Star Ferry Harbour Tour, the Tram and Tramoramic Golden Ticket Tour and Temple Street Night Market.

The fields are getting so tall.
Cornstalks a plenty.
It'll be getting cold soon.
Do we hibernate?
I never really put that much time into my photos.... but was taught a couple neat tricks by a friend and figured, needed a creative pursuit. Not very good and took me longer to do than I care to admit. But hey, gotta start somewhere?

Magdeburg / Germany
See where this picture was taken. [?]

Here in Magdeburg we have had a Ferris wheel to stand since 9 May. Actually, it was planned for Berlin before the whole Corona crisis.
Despite the public standstill, it was set up here by the operator in response to inquiries to the city of Magdeburg.
Of course, people are happy to have a little more "freedoms" again and so this Ferris wheel has become a "Wheel of Hope".

Per "A History of the Sheringham Point Lighthouse," there have been more than 240 shipwrecks along the Vancouver Island coast since 1803. In 1906, the steamship SS Valencia hit a reef on the southwestern part of the island and sank. Only 37 of the 173 passengers aboard survived. In response to formal inquiries, Canada decided to build 12 more lighthouses in the area, including one at Sheringham Point in 1912. This is a Canadian "Heritage Lighthouse." Calm, quiet, peaceful, simple, majestic, genuine, spiritual, kindness, unaffected, warmth, respectful, storytellers. These are all words I'd use to describe Bhutan and the Bhutanese. There are a few words missing, I know.
Bhutan is called Druk Yul - Land of Thunder Dragon.
Because of the violent and large thunderstorms that whip down through the valleys from the Himalayas, Bhutan is known as the Land of Thunder Dragon. The sparkling light of Thunderbolts was believed to be the red fire of a dragon. The Druk is the Thunder Dragon of Bhutanese mythology and a Bhutanese national symbol. It appears on the flag, holding jewels representing wealth.
The tiny kingdom of Bhutan is nestled high in the Himalayas between China, Nepal and India. To find it on a map you really must search and fly into Paro the plane's pilot carefully negotiates between mountains taller than you've ever seen.
Map Showing Location of Bhutan.
I've never been more at peace with everything than when visiting Bhutan. The culture and traditions are genuine; the people warmer than any visitor could ever expect; the landscape towers over life; and the architecture transports you a thousand years back. Nothing is for "show" in Bhutan. What you see is real in every way. There is no pretence and there is no keeping up with anyone else.
Our world changes rapidly, yet while Bhutan progresses, it is a country mostly unaffected by modernity.

There is no conceptual inquiry in these shots, I'm really sorry to have chosen this path with my latest works, dear Flickr friends. The past month I've been trying to simplify my creations and tweak my technique for stock photography and I've ignored my creative ego because of that.
I didn't want to post these on Flickr for obvious "incompatibility" reasons, but after receiving so many messages regarding my absence here, I'm posting some of the shots here and asking for "forgiveness" if they're not of the kind you are used to "taste" from me.
Hope I'll get to the conceptual postings soon enough, after all those types of images are probably what I do best.

From scolastic inquiry on typical rural architecture. - Family group.
Rolleiflex - scanner - photoshop.
