The Bread and Ink Cafe has been on the corner of 36th and Hawthorne for the past 25 years. They have a Waffle Window around the corner where you can walk up and order all kinds of waffles and coffee or a latte.
Here is the inked version of a pencil sketch I did earlier. I can see now why having a clear character design is so important. Yeah for whiteout, but I'd rather not use it.
I used a Faber-Castell PITT artist brush pen, refilled with Talens Indian ink, and penciled over the sketch, converted into blue line, printed enlarged on a sheet of copier paper.
Homage to Edward Gorey. Yes, I shamelessly ripped off his style. Yes, I hate those homages, too, but I'm still kinda proud of my pen work here.
