Ingonish lies at the eastern entrance to Cape Breton Highlands National Park. The regional economy is tied to the seasonal tourism and fishing industries. The community is in the federal electoral district of Sydney—Victoria. Ingonish was one of the first areas settled on Cape Breton Island, and is home to the Keltic Lodge resort, downhill skiing at Cape Smokey, and a public golf course, the Highlands Links.

I enjoyed just watching the Chipmunks in the garden of our accommodation in Ingonish on Cape Breton Island. They were very entertaining.

White-throated Sparrows stay near the ground, scratching through leaves in search of food, often in flocks. You may see them low in bushes as well, particularly in spring when they eat fresh buds. White-throated Sparrows sing their distinctive songs frequently, even in winter.
I took a pleasant walk along the beach in Ingonish and had a few of these guys for company. Always kept their distance though.
My nemisis bird. Although fairly common in Nova Scotia they seemed to spend most of their time either high on trees or hiding in the trees or flying high overhead while calling.

Nova Scotia, Canada...near Ingonish
We are still based in Baddeck, but will be moving to Halifax, tomorrow. We drove around the Cabot trail yesterday, but encountered fog/low clouds around the western half, but the sun peeked out by the time we got back to the east coast. The day before we visited Louisbourg Fort.
This is an unedited photo...snapshot. Connections are bad and I don't have my trusty software on this computer.
Having a great time....Later.

The sky was just beginning to light up as I took this shot. I never attempted to take a photo in near darkness before so I thought this was a cool experience. I never had a tripod with me or anything, so for handheld I don't think she's too bad.
