We are absolute suckers for infinity mirrors! Facing mirrors are almost as cool. Turns out this Canon SD400 camera isn't quite as good as I'd thought -- in low light and with a low battery it reminds me more of my shitty GE camera than my old Canon S330 pictures.

BACKSTORY: Remembrance party held in honor of Dirk Smiler (R.I.P.), who was shot by his girlfriend Cara Cottle in February.
This installation is a large sphere with two windows. Two people can look into the sphere at the same time -- their images are reflected by hundreds of mirrors, creating very strange effects. Part of the Infinity Mirrors exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto, Canada, on until May 27, 2018.
At the end of the Infinity Mirrors exhibit at the Art Gallery of Ontario, a retrospective of Yayoi Kusama's art, visitors were given a sheet of colored dots and invited to apply them to the walls and furniture. This view is the accumulation of the exhibit's entire run: I was there on the final weekend.

A clever little collection box at Birmingham Museum. It's a square column with four glass faces and whichever face you look through, you see the corridor disappearing into infinity - and yourself, of course.

The Hirshhorn Museum's last weekend to display Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Exhibit. It was extremely difficult to obtain tickets into this museum for the last several months but I finally won the lottery and got in on a special event "The After Party" on the last weekend before Yayoi's display will move on to another city.
She has a series of 6 special art displays that are extra special. The lines are long and worth the wait to see what is inside. Once inside, you are only allowed 20 to 30 seconds to enjoy her artwork and LED lightshow. Then you must exit. I barely got inside and then bam.... the doors opened again. But those are the rules.
Then there is the Obliteration Room. Completely furnished by white IKEA furniture. You are given a sheet of stickers that you are allowed to place anywhere you wish! Oh what JOY! The best part was there wasn't a time limit. There was also a real piano! I suddenly turned and watched all of the sacred security guards enter the Obliteration Room and say goodnight. The Hirshhorn was soon to close. The pianist stood up and took her bow. My husband and I said grace and had our good night kiss. It was a good date worth the wait.
I used the panorama function on my iPhone 7 plus, starting at the bottom of the sculpture. I find this creates a more proportional photo, as well as a sharper image.

BACKSTORY: We were only scheduled to be in town for about 26 hours. And that included *two* sleeps. Combined with the SubGenius devival we were going to later that day, we really didn't have much time to do anything. We woke up, walked around Chinatown, ate, and then headed to the Museum Of Sex to see what oddities it had to offer. Then we went straight to the SubGenius Devival in Astoria afterward.
This is a two-part installation. In the first part you are in and surrounded by the dots. In the second you peer into one dot through a peephole to see reflected dots to infinity.
