When you're blessed with golden light you take as many shots as possible. Just hope you don't get fed up with another from January.
I assume this was attached to a piece of clothing which I bought on one of our holidays to the Caribbean (many years ago). I find it amazing that something that was never brought out and not handled can be so scratched. Even though it looks quite shiny to the naked eye. The letters are embossed but the palm tree is cut out, so I placed coloured paper behind the tag which is about 4cm long.
Change was coming. The signals will be modernized, the code line poles would be removed and the SD60's would be replaced with newer locomotives. But on this day, all was well.

Every Indy team station has three of these fire extinguishers perched on the cement barrier, in anticipation of track action.
But the skies look a little foreboding.
I am up at 5 AM and back to my volunteer position in the credentials area. Every so often, I take a break and walk the grounds to shoot images. Tomorrow, the racing actions starts. Yippee.

I took Indy to the vet on Thursday the 15th and I'm afraid his tumour has grown so large that the skin is dying off. It's inoperable because of his age and his stroke history so the decision has been made to put him to sleep next Monday. He's been struggling for the last nine months and it's the kindest thing before he gets in serious pain. My heart is breaking writing this, it makes it too real.
Thank you for all your kind comments so far, every one has a special place in my heart and it helps to know Indy has touched you all and he will be missed by you. If it is any consolation there are many unseen photos of Indy that are still to be published here. He will live on.

Went out to the White River last night around midnight. It was completely deserted and I was creeped out so I took only a few shots and left.
