Bisogna rallentare, fermarsi... C'è un appello alla sobrietà, ai doveri, alle cose essenziali. Chi aveva una vita molto dinamica si accorge che può essere penoso, ma non è così. Questa può essere una grande opportunità per confrontarsi nel silenzio con il proprio io. Nella nostra corsa quotidiana spesso non siamo abituati a questo, a pensare alla nostra fragilità e anche alla morte, con cui ora ci scontriamo.
Siamo egoisti, individualisti, ciascuno pensa a sé, ai suoi interessi e libertà. Questa vicenda ci ha ricordato che siamo pezzi di una trama più grande, e che chiunque, magari con un contagio, può interferire nella rotta della nostra vita.
E poi, stare in po' a casa, può essere anche un modo per dedicarci ai nostri interessi e alle persone che ci sono care

This is probably the most common hawk in North America. If you’ve got sharp eyes, you’ll see several individuals on almost any long car ride, anywhere. Red-tailed Hawks soar above open fields, slowly turning circles on their broad, rounded wings. Other times you’ll see them atop telephone poles, eyes fixed on the ground to catch the movements of a vole or a rabbit.

Well, that's me finished editing this amazing session I had in these woods. Cannot wait to go back again especially in Autumn when the colours will be pretty spectacular!
What appears to be mist is in fact low cloud, as these woods are quite high up on a hill (my lungs can attest to that lol).
Beech trees do amaze me in how they grow so very differently to each other. Some areas I go to they are all tall and straight, other places they are all squat and gnarly. I guess they are like us and all individuals in their own ways.
I hope you enjoy this series I will be posting in the next week or so, let me know when you get bored of them lol.

I do not recall whether these individuals were waiting to cross the street , or perhaps waiting for a bus, but as I approached the street I could not help but to notice that this group of apparently unrelated individuals were all standing with their arms crossed while waiting... . and with interesting facial expressions.

Trying out various potential swaying roosts, a Small Pearl-bordered Fritillary (Boloria selene) gets ready for the night at Priddy Mineries in Somerset.
Made late by an horrendous journey from Daneway Banks in Gloucestershire (nearly three hours for forty line-of-sight miles!), I had limited time to conduct a search for my two targets; this species and the Downy Emerald dragonfly. No joy on the latter (despite plenty of ready meals of biting insects), but after lots of trudging and scanning, and with time running out before local sunset, I finally spotted the orange of this individual having a last bask. And just as I started photography . . . the wind picked up, blowing the grasses all around. So no opportunity for a highly detailed portrait, just a record of a breezy first encounter with this attractive butterfly.
The long journey home to the Midlands was a stinker, too. After 21 hours on the go I felt I could say it was a good but tough day.
