Mamiya C3, Sekor 80mm f2.8, Kodak Ektar 100, f8 1/250
I spent a while trying to frame this when I shot it, and then a while messing around with rotating the scan, but ultimately left things pretty much as they were. The geometry seems a little off-kilter -- when the lamppost is straight, the buildings seem totally crooked, and vice versa. I think I have a lot more to learn about perspective...
The government of Canada decided to send me a cheque for just shy of $10,000 more than they should have. $11668.05, to be exact.
It killed me to put it in an envelope and send it back. Now all I've got is a photo.
I would like to go back and pay my taxes at the 1914 rate- or the Jeff Bezos rate in 2022 which was probably even lower (but then I would have no soul).
When I was a kid my mother gave me a book of true facts for Christmas and I was instantly fixated on random, useless trivia and true facts. I used to read the Trivial Pursuit cards on road trips (nerd alert), and to this day I still have a passion for the unusual and bizarre factoids.

Income tax can't be treated like a game. There are more free stock photography shots in my Freestock set.
It's about time to think about filing income taxes in the USA. Both of the above are regular space takers on my desk and I couldn't resist combining two mandatory Tax Time ingredients in one photo.
This is my first image with a new Canon 7D I got today. The weather is terrible outside so I put on a 100mm 2.8L IS USM Macro lens to take a few hand held shots. Thought this one worthy of sharing with you. It might even qualify for HBW.....
SOOC except for WaterMark..
Best viewed LARGE or ORIGINAL if you have time... thanks....
Has any nice thing ever been said about paying taxes? Consider it the cost of staying free. In the 1940s, when this issue of the Post was published, taxes were used to help defeat a notorious dictator. Now, they may be needed again to defeat yet another.

Shot at Portishead Marina: This Leisure Craft aka Gin Palace fires up it's engine and the smell is disgusting as it pollutes the atmosphere.
The marina home to a lot of these vessels many of which rarely go to sea. Why own these expensive boats; well it seems they are a tax wheeze, insofar as they can be claimed against income tax.
Day two hundred fifty-four/365. I'm not into board games. But, when I was a kid, I used to play Monopoly with my cousins when we were all on vacation.
Back then, I couldn't appreciate the message conveyed by the layout of a Monopoly board. Now, it jumps right out!
The neighborhoods are divided by affluence. You can put up a house in the slums, or on some pretty exclusive property. As you hop around the board, you may have to pay income tax -- only if you're in one of the poorest neighborhoods. Folks in the more privileged section pay no income tax. There is a luxury tax among the wealthy, but it's nominal compared to the income tax paid by the poor.
On one corner is a police officer. If he catches you, you go to jail -- back in a poor neighborhood! The cop is there to protect a wealthy neighborhood against dogs, shoes, cannons, or other pieces moving through.
Was Monopoly invented by a very cynical person? Or, was it designed to convey a subtle message about economic justice?
Hair Salon and an Income tax service in Redwood City. I have other pictures of this place earlier in my stream. I take a picture of it every time they change the paint job. Kodak M35. Fuji 400 film.

I created this shot in my studio for use on my site, SeniorLiving.Org but I want to share it since it is applicable to much more than just senior retirement planning. Feel free to use this image but please give us a Plus one or like. It is very difficult to get seniors to +1 so your help can really help us establish the site as a great resource for caregivers and seniors.
It's TAX DAY here in the US! While usually on April 15, because that date fell on a weekend it was pushed to Tuesday, April 17th. Unfortunately for Kayla, in today's airbrushed style pinup photo, she's found herself having to give a lot to Uncle Sam... even the shirt off her back! This Pinup is a tribute to Bill Randall's 1954 'Date Book' pinup (See it here - goo.gl/6sNEg1)

Income tax preparation and returns filing are a legal duty of every taxpayer. No matter if you are a senior citizen or earning a few thousand dollars per year. There is no exemption available whatsoever in any case. However, the IRS is right in means that they have made special arrangements for individual cases.
