Ein Ziel, bzw. ein Zielfoto hatte ich bei meinem Besuch im Burgenland. Abgesehen von den Bienenfressern wollte ich die seltenen Ziesel sehen und wenn möglich ein schönes Foto von den lustigen Erdmännchen, bzw. Erdhörnchen machen.
A goal, or rather a target photo I had during my visit to Burgenland. Apart from the bee-eaters, I wanted to see the rare gopher and if possible take a nice photo of the funny meerkats.

As in every great city, there is it's port. Ostia was the main port for Roma and it's empire (Imperium Romanum). Also as in any city of antiquity, as now theaters are a must. As for the shows, spectacles and crowds, it must have been amazing. Vareus culture's that mingling in this city are clearly visible in the impressive mosaics. Sort of like a modern day Manhattan. Numbers of people that have passed through the ages at this port. SPQR aeternum
Kloster Walkenried - ein ehemals mächtiges Imperium des Zisterzienserordens am südlichen Harzrand.
Die Kirche ist leider zerfallen und steht nur noch als - immer noch imposante - Ruine da.
Ich besuchte den Ort im vergangenen Jahr - hatte euch schon ein Bild davon gezeigt, verlinke es hier noch einmal im ersten Kommentarfeld.
Dieser Tage besuchte ich das Klostermuseum, denn der Wohn-. Schlaf- und Arbeitsbereich der Zisterzienser existiert noch.
Gleich am Parkplatz empfing mich diese Installation, sie ist begehbar und trägt seitlich die Aufschrift:
"Für eine kurze Zeit in eine fremde Welt eintauchen und sich berühren lassen vom besonderen Lebensraum der Mönche, die aus einer anderen Dimension Kraft schöpfen..."
Im Inneren stehen Dinge zur Auswahl, die als Kraftquellen dienen können, der Betrachtende liest sie, während er sich selbst im Spiegel sieht.
Mit den folgenden Bildern möchte ich euch mitnehmen an diesen Kraftort...

Imperium and Beast arrive on scene to take on Affliction, but they didn't arrive in time to spare two officers from the villain's gas. Now the only question is if it is of the variety that will kill them immediately (and possibly infect other civillians in the area) or will it be the mind control variety?
Obviously this photo has nothing to do with Blade Runner, but I'm still enjoying playing on #DeanStudios backlot and wanted to get some of my original characters in on the action, too!

Sometimes bad guys win. Negator uses his scepter to remove Imperium's powers, leaving him susceptible to a heck of a left uppercut.
Imperium tries to enjoy a sandwich, but Beast seems intent on making him share it.

Hvar is a town and port on the island of Hvar. It has a long and distinguished history as center for trade and culture in the Adriatic. A commune, part of the Venetian Empire during the 13th to 18th centuries, it was an important naval base with a strong fortress above, encircling the town walls and protecting the port. Cultural life thrived as prosperity grew, and Hvar is the site of one of the oldest surviving theatres in Europe, opened in 1612. The seven-hundred-year-old walls still survive, as do many of the noble houses and public buildings from 15th – 17th centuries. Today, the town has a variety of hotels, galleries, museums, and exhibitions, including the Arsenal, Loggia, the Croatian Institute, and the Hvar Heritage Museum with its art and archaeological collections.

Miasto Hvar (greckie Pharos założone w 384 r. p.n.e., położone na dalmatyńskiej wyspie o tej samej nazwie) ma długą i znamienitą historię jako centrum handlu i kultury. W okresie od XIII do XVIII wieku miasto stanowiło część Imperium Weneckiego i było ważną bazą morską. W mieście znajdują się mury z VII w., twierdza Španjola z XVIw., najstarszy teatr miejski w Europie otwarty w 1612 roku, wiele domów i budynków użyteczności publicznej z XV-XVII wieku, muzea, galerie i wystawy. Obecnie Hvar jest popularnym kurortem turystycznym. W centrum miasteczka znajduje się niewielki port jachtowy, otoczony zabytkową zabudową, a także żwirowe i skaliste plaże. Na przedmieściach miasta znaleźć można urokliwe zatoczki. Kurort znany jest z dużej ilości restauracji, barów i dyskotek.

The bigger they are, the harder they fall - Imperium's got his work cut out for him with this giant creature that's living in the city's sewer system.
Volubilis was at the southwesternmost expansion of the Roman Imperium. Nowadays, it is in Morocco close to Moulay Idriss.
Imperium's better half, Beast, the superdog has been part of saving the world on more occasions than his paws can count - and now he is part of the #SundayFunday portrait photo challenge, too!
Mornings have a different flavor when you stop racing against time. A cup of coffee, fresh fruit, the gentle sound of flowing water... I like to slow down, enjoy the silence, and let the sun warm my skin. I savor this moment the way one savors a victory: quietly, without rushing. Breakfast is only waiting to be shared. Orthodox church of St. George is an early Christian rotunda of red brick, which is the oldest building in Sofia.
The Rotunda was built by the Romans in the 4th century AD. Inside and in the central dome, original frescos from the 12th-14th century have been preserved. During the time of the Ottoman Empire, the building served as a mosque, now a church-museum.

Cerkiew św. Jerzego to wczesnochrześcijańska rotunda z czerwonej cegły, będąca najstarszym budynkiem, znajdującym się w Sofii.
Rotunda została zbudowana przez Rzymian w IV wieku naszej ery. Wewnątrz oraz w centralnej kopule zachowały się oryginalne freski z XII-XIV wieku. Za czasów Imperium Osmańskiego budynek służył za meczet, obecnie cerkiew-muzeum.
