Sculptures at the Imperial Palace of Goslar
The Imperial Palace of Goslar (German: Kaiserpfalz Goslar) is a historical building complex at the foot of the Rammelsberg hill in the south of the town of Goslar north of the Harz mountains, central Germany. It covers an area of about 340 by 180 metres and stands. The palace grounds originally included the Kaiserhaus, the old collegiate church of St. Simon and St. Jude, the palace chapel of St. Ulrich and the Church of Our Lady (Liebfrauenkirche). The Kaiserhaus is the greatest, oldest and best-preserved secular building of the 11th century in Germany. It was a favourite imperial residence, especially for the Salian emperors. As early as the 11th century, the buildings of the imperial palace had already so impressed the chronicler Lambert of Hersfeld that he described it as the "most famous residence in the empire". Since 1992, the palace site, together with the Goslar's Old Town and the Rammelsberg has been a UNESCO world heritage site.

The Kaiserhaus, which has been extensively restored in the late 19th century, was a favourite imperial residence, especially for the Salian emperors.
SAKERTOUR Hide in Hungary Hortobagy NP. I spent c. 7 hours waiting for cranes. The Eagle on picture apeared after 4 pm. and next spent over 1h on tree far from the hide - after 5 pm - the light become great dusk coming soon it finally decided to land in the pool of the hide. Next happened 45 minutes of photographic creaziness at it was bathing and jumping & flying around :)

One of those rare times when there were no container ships unloading here so I could get just the walkers.
The way I have heard it is, Lucas was being driven across the Bay Bridge when he saw the cranes at the Port of Oakland and started sketching them. They became the walkers. I don't know if it's true, but it is a fine tale.

In 2005 I participated in a contest hosted by FBTB to design and build an Imperial Voidfighter. My entry at the time was mediocre. Here is a reimagined version of the Voidfighter more than 17 years later, featuring a pilot minifig with an extremely rare dark bluish gray snowtrooper helmet from around 2010 (only 2 known in existence).

La garza imperial ($Ardea purpurea$) es una especie de ave acuática de la familia Ardeidae, conocida por su elegancia y su plumaje distintivo. A diferencia de la garza real, con la que a menudo se le compara, la garza imperial tiene un tamaño ligeramente menor y una coloración más oscura, con tonos castaños, púrpuras y grises.
### Características
* **Tamaño:** Mide entre 78 y 97 cm de largo, con una envergadura de 120-152 cm.
* **Plumaje:** Su coloración es una de sus características más destacadas. Los adultos tienen un plumaje predominantemente castaño rojizo con partes superiores pardo grisáceas y un capirote negro. El cuello es largo y delgado, con líneas negras longitudinales. Los jóvenes son de color leonado, sin el plumaje negro de la cabeza y el cuello de los adultos.
* **Comportamiento:** Es un ave discreta que prefiere esconderse entre la densa vegetación palustre, como los carrizos y las eneas. Suele cazar sola, permaneciendo inmóvil en la orilla para atrapar a sus presas. Un comportamiento notable es su "postura de estaca", donde se queda muy quieta con el cuello estirado y el pico hacia arriba, mimetizándose con los carrizos para pasar desapercibida.
* **Vuelo:** Vuela de manera lenta y pausada, con el cuello retraído en forma de "S" y las patas estiradas hacia atrás.
### Hábitat y Distribución
La garza imperial es una especie migratoria que se distribuye por África subsahariana, el sur, centro y este de Europa, y Asia meridional y oriental. En Europa, es una especie estival que llega para reproducirse en primavera y regresa a África para pasar el invierno.
Su hábitat principal son los humedales de agua somera con abundante vegetación palustre, como marjales, lagos, ríos, canales y arrozales.
En España, las principales zonas de cría se encuentran en las marismas del Guadalquivir, el delta del Ebro, la Albufera de Valencia y las cuencas de los ríos Ebro, Guadalquivir, Tajo y Guadiana. También se reproducen en Mallorca y en núcleos más pequeños en otras regiones.
### Alimentación
Es un ave carnívora que se alimenta principalmente de peces, anfibios, reptiles, pequeños mamíferos, moluscos, crustáceos e insectos acuáticos. Caza al acecho, arponeando a sus presas con su afilado pico.
### Reproducción
El periodo de cría se da entre abril y agosto. Las garzas imperiales suelen formar colonias de anidación, aunque a veces lo hacen en solitario. Construyen nidos grandes y voluminosos con carrizos secos sobre el agua, ocultos en la vegetación. La puesta consta de 3 a 5 huevos, que ambos padres incuban durante casi un mes.

Spanish Imperial Eagle soaring through a valley. Easily distinguishable from other eagle spacies, the adults are easily recognizable by the distinctive white patch on their shoulders.
This is another example of conservation done right. For decades, the Spanish Imperial Eagle was on the brink of extinction (mainly due to habitat loss). Thanks to dedicated conservation efforts (protecting nesting areas, reintroducing pairs into suitable areas,…) their numbers have slowly been on the rise again.

The American artist Robert Indiana's sculpture "Imperial Love" stands on the terrace of the New National Gallery. "Indiana's 1966 idea was realised in 2006 in Corten steel, a weather-resistant structural steel. "Imperial Love" is a variation of the word LOVE through a mirrored doubling of the letters.
