... we all need a deeply hidden space within us where we can retract to in times of need ... :)

Continuing on with a new technique - the creation of abstract imagery through heavy pixelation and right-angled effects application.

Zoom in and it's utterly abstract, pull away and a recognizable image starts to form. Might that say something about quanta and the everyday world we see ?

The original digital SLR shot was taken several years ago and was, again, an outtake from a series that was posted back then as SOOC shots. In truth, I'm sifting through my throw-aways for potentials in this new approach. Waste not, want not ...

Pano-Sabotage shots collaged with some straight "SOOC" imagery, then mirrored and layered in panels and edge treatments.

The iPhone 6 doesn't do night shots very well but in this case the lights on the trees and the reflections on the marble and in the windows provided just enough for this image to be useful.

Columns with chains

Shopping in Corfu, Greece (3 of 3), in Agios Spyridon between the old and the new forts.

SYDNEY, NSW AUSTRALIA

Sydney and the rest of New South Wales has been battered by severe thunderstorms eight days in a row, & finally they look like ebating from today.

On this particular night, the thunder was growling & the clouds lingered for hours before the storm roared with all it's might through the harbour.

The harbour echoed loudly like a chamber as mother nature barrelled in from north, south, and west. It was quite spectacular, and despite getting saturated, it was not for the faint hearted. It was terrifying, but I thrive being in the thick of it.

Sydney & in particular the east coast of Australia can look forward to another 3-4 months of these unpredicatble weather conditions.

Bring it on !!!!!

First of a series of 8 in a set that takes exclusively Pano-Sabotage imagery into extreme mirroring.

The visual complexity of the foliage and branches of the mostly natural elements, along with the complex mirror shapes makes for a very ornate statements in this series. At this time of year I seem to often end up doing things that are purely or largely abstract. I also wanted to take, what I call, "X-Stream Mirroring" as far as I could go ( for now ). The results made my think of the complex brocades that frame Tibetan Buddhist Thangka paintings. Hence the "Brocade" name.

It's always been my goal to take Pano-Sabotage as far into art making as I can. I love visually complex work and thought I'd "pull out the stops" for this series. Following these 8 it's likely that I'll go in completely the opposite direction, exploring Pano-Sabotage in extremely simple forms.

NEW YORK CITY, USA

The City of New York, is like the Empire of the United States. It is the heartbeat of the country.

Beautiful sunset views from the Empire State Building.

Awesome city, showcasing the Hudson River banking along the Financial District and newly rebuilding of the World Trade Centre high above.

To the distance are the Statue Of Liberty nestled in the waters, and the Brooklyn Bridge to the left.

One hell of a place to visit.

A photographer captures Dune imagery in the early morning in Oregon Dunes National Seashore, Oregon

Image taken along Wylie Street SE in Atlanta after the murals had been updated in September 2021. These murals run about a half mile east from the Krog Street tunnel. If you have time, go ahead and check out the detail. Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. :-)

Created for the "Shock of the New" Group's challenge, "Urban Blue".

A common theme that's run through my entire photo stream, the undoing or even sabotage of the right angle, which, for me, represents authority, over-masculinity and a modern world's disconnect from Nature.

Right or 90 degree angles are purely a human construction, except for maybe bismuth crystals and basalt columns. There are very few places in Nature where you seem them. The cutting edge in architecture is getting away from these harsh propositions, which I think reflects a possible trend away from absolutist thinking.

Two Pano-Sabotaged images and one "straight" shot, blended, repeated, flipped and layered. Photo manipulation.
