Jeg brukte dette bildet som illustrasjon for et foredrag om foto-komposisjon. Det inneholder mange sentrale elementer. Forgrunn, fokuspunkt på det jeg anser som bildets mest interessante del (buen i nettet) og ikke minst diagonaler og kurver som veier opp for de mer statiske horisontale og vertikale linjene. Det kom en kommentar til bildet som jeg likte godt; "so even objects can look lonely".

På grunn av omfanget er flerfunksjonell tilrettelegging en viktig del av planleggingen. Det vil være behov for en langsgående ledekonstruksjon gjennom hele tunnelen og på begge sider av tunnelen. Disse vil skjerme fartøyet mot støt, men også kunne bli benyttet som rømningsvei under evakuering, og som adkomstvei for inspeksjon og vedlikehold i anlegget.

Given the scope, a multi-functional facilitation is an important part of the planning. There is a need for a longitudinal guiding structure through the tunnel and on both sides of the tunnel. These will protect the vessel against impact, but can also be used as escape routes during evacuation, and access road for inspection and maintenance of the facility.

Kjødepollen: Krever større areal enn tidligere antatt. Illustrasjon: Kystverket/Snøhetta
Undersøkelser av berggrunnen i Kjødepollen viser at det er mer løsmasse enn først antatt. Det betyr at inngangsportalene må bygges over et større areal enn tidligere planlagt. Av praktiske og sikkerhetsmessige årsaker er inngangspartiet foreslått bygd som terrasser. Terrassenes flater vil kunne etableres etter kjente prinsipper for uttak av masser, med en kombinasjon av byggemetoder som wire-saging og sprenging.

Examinations of the bedrock in Kjødepollen shows that there is more sediment than first expected. That means that the portal must be built on a larger area than previously planned. For practical and safety reasons, the entrance is proposed built as terraces. The terrace surfaces can be established by known principles for withdrawal of loads, with a combination of construction methods such as wire-cutting and blasting.
