It's an ill wind that blows nobody any good. If I hadn't wrecked my computer I wouldn't have found out about the virus.
My laptop became seriously corrupted last week when i deleted some programs the wrong way. So I brought it to specialists to fix, which they did. Then they discovered that the anti-virus program I had installed was itself a virus. And there's only one way to uninstall it and that is to clean out the hard drive and do a clean re-install. So I will be without my laptop until at least Tuesday. Then I hope it will be safe to restore my photos from my external drive.

Ponts Couverts in the la Petite France district of Strasbourg, France.
They are a set of three bridges and four towers that make up a defensive work erected in the 13th century on the River Ill. The three bridges cross the four river channels of the River Ill that flow through Strasbourg's historic Petite France quarter.
Construction commenced in 1230, and they were opened in 1250. As a defensive mechanism, they were superseded by the Barrage Vauban, just upstream, in 1690, but remained in use as bridges. As built, each of the bridges was covered by a wooden roof that served to protect the defenders who would have been stationed on them in time of war. These roofs were removed in 1784, but name Ponts Couverts (covered bridges) has remained in common use ever since.

There are people who speak ill of the fog of Milan. I don't know that of the other countries, but this in Milan is a great fog, nice, affectionate, friendly. Allow everything like a caress. And then it seems to me that the fog invites to intimacy, optimism, confidence.

I haven't actually been inside yet, just stopped to shoot its title mural along the side of the building.
After a short nap my plan was to hike back to the tracks in time for some night photos before calling it a night. Having slept little in the last 24 hours I must not have been thinking clearly because when I arrived to the tracks I realized I forgot the top of my tripod. Seconds later horns from the west could be heard and since I had no ability to use a tripod I fumbled my settings just in time to capture the impending eastbound stack train, albeit at 1/15th of a second. At this point I was too tired to wait for another train so I'll have to be satisfied with this result until work takes me here once again.
