Autumn (also known as fall in North American English) is one of the four temperate seasons. Autumn marks the transition from summer into winter, usually in March (southern hemisphere) or September (northern hemisphere) when the arrival of night becomes noticeably earlier.

The grain elevators were storm damaged then demolished and the tractors removed. Little or nothing remains here now.
Shot with the Olympus E-M1 at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts. I dig all aspects of this amazing, creative museum of art. Even the non-intentionally artsy elements, such as this lone person standing in the imposing, brick-lined passageways, have artistic merit to me. I was fascinated by how alone, small and insiginificant he appeared as if this was an illusion.

Two Chicago & North Western C628’s stand with a string of ore jennies in Escanaba, MI. Another pair of the groundbreaking Alcos are on an adjacent track in the distance.
It's 30 degrees below zero and dropping on a Tuesday afternoon in Alaska's second largest city. A lone yard unit sits outside the south door of roundhouse track 3 idling away in notch 3. Due to the extreme cold the ARR has to idle their units in a higher throttle position to prevent damage. Note the pig on a flat car adorning the old sign in the upper left corner. This denotes the "pig barn" where the ARR keeps it's Van Loader for piggyback TOFC service.
GP38u 2007 is dressed in the 1980s 'Alaska Bold' scheme that she was delivered in after being acquired second hand in 1986. She was built by EMD as a straight GP38 in Sep. 1969 originally Penn Central 7780, later wearing Conrail blue before migrating north.
