I have now been on flickr for one year!!!!
So here are my 366 photos of 2008 (it was a leap year!)
I decided at the beginning of 2008 that I would take a photo a day.
So I bought myself my wonderful Canon Elph SD 750. I can carry it in my pocket.
I like to find my photos within my reach, on my walks in the morning or where ever I may be. I do not go out of my way or go special places to take my photos. They are what I see, everyday. The gifts of the day.
I Thank all of my FLICKR FRIENDS! For your comments and support and most importantly your wonderful photos and inspiration.
THANKS FOR A GREAT & FUN YEAR!
It is far to be perfect but it is hand made, done by my hands, I had never used a needle before. I had one offered me by a friend so I used it as a model and here you have my first sewed thing. I have started to use a sewing machine just yesterday, huh it was not easy !!!
I am very brave to show imy masterpiece to all of you ;))) But please do not laugh I promise I will improve !
Flowers are funny but I made some errors so had to hid them lol !!!!!
I went to a fun night where we chose a painting and the artist came and went through step by step to create your version of this sea scene. It was a rather fun evening and I didn't think anyone could teach me to any better than a stick man, lol!
I alone became a homeowner today!
Yesterday was full of emotions, some of which i have shared some of which I haven't. The support I have recevied from so many of you has been incredible - more that I could have imagined. Its been such a great process for me to be able to share some of this with you because its allowed for me meeting and getting to know some beautiful souls. I look forward to meeting more of you.
So, next phase of my journey begins...I want to thank you again for your amazing support, your comments and emails and best wishes have lifted me up.
Much peace and love to you!!
I can not begin to list all the great people I have met here in this flickrverse. However, I do want to say that I am thrilled that I did this project the way in which I needed to. You hugged me when I needed to be hugged, laughed with, cried with me experienced some life changing events with me, been with me through good days and bad. Thank you . You also have inspired me, taught me, elevated me and made me want to get to know all of you.
I have had the pleasure of meeting some of you and the honor of getting to know alot of you and I am thrilled and excited and honored to have your friendships. Ive learned so much about myself that was unexpected in some ways. I still remember when Nat( sistermoon) said, c'mon it will be fun! - haha - the nightly stresses over what image to post, or the stress of feeling like i cant possibly post that utter shite - but you stayed with me!
Well If i didn't share the way in which i did I am pretty sure i would not have had the experience I have had this past year. Thank you my friends, thank you
Dedicated to Jeniee... the queen of SPs! Thank you so much for your sweet testimonial!
Ok, I tried, but this is so hard and such unknown territory for me! I have so much respect for all of you who are able to take such beautiful SPs...
I had to work with my 50mm lens though, so only extreme closeups are possible at this point, at arms length ;)
Btw, this must be the first ever photo I am not smiling in :)
So much to learn, but it was fun. Who knows, I might try it again someday...
Wow! Frontpage :) My first ever selfie! Thanks so much!! Really wonderful...

I did it!
365 Days in Colour have passed and I loved every minute of it. I took photos of things I would normally ignore and sometimes surprised myself with the results.
I see the world differently which is just what I set out to do.
I feel sad. It became such a big part of each day, I don't want to let go. I considered commiting to another year but need a break to concentrate on my collaboration with shannonblue and possibly start a new project.
I love looking back through the set of thumbnails for this project, it really is like flicking through an old diary; all the feelings and emotions are there as I remember things I did.
A big thanks to those of you who joined me and committed yourselves, good luck with the rest of your year in colour.
yes, you have not mistaken - this is my stream, and you are not looking at some architecture, neither berlin, neither zurich - no abstracts and no crazy things - just a "stupid", romantic sunset ....
I hope this won't muck up your evening!
enjoy your sunday :-))))

I'm rarely disciplined enough to follow through on these kinds of projects, but I've somehow managed to go a full year of shooting at least one photo a day.
This started out as just a small therapeutic project to keep myself sane in the winter, mostly to give me some reason to get outside every day. But I've enjoyed it way more than I expected I would. I feel like I've grown a lot, especially technically. And most importantly, I've gotten to know Hyde Park and other parts of Chicago a lot better than I would've otherwise.
Thanks to everybody who's commented and offered encouragement and feedback. And thanks to Chicagoist and Explore Chicago and Chicago Public Radio and Gapers Block and Chi-Town Daily News and Chicago Reader and Grub Street and Gourmet for the occasional confidence boost.
I'll probably keep shooting daily shots out of sheer inertia, but I'm not sure yet if I'm going to commit to keeping it up for another year.

High above Berchtesgaden with its Historical Background stands The Eagles Nest, Berchtesgaden´s most favoured Tourist Attraction. This statement doesn't give the Kehlstein Mountain enough praise, those who walk up to the summit from Ofener Boden or over the Schritzkehl experience the true beauty of the Mountain. As one climbs up over the Sappensteig, the Kehlstein Mountain rewards its climber with a spectacular panoramic view of the Jenner, Königssee Kings Lake, Watzmann Mountain and the Hochkalter Mountain.
Behind the Kehlsteinhaus there's a footpath which takes you up to the Gipfelkreuz - Mountaintop Cross which marks the highest point of the Kehlstein peak at 1834m. From here you will be presented with one of many spectacular Vistas of the Berchtesgaden Valley. Behind the Gipfelkreuz there is passage to the Hoher Göll. This is a 2,522 m mountain which stradles the border between Bavaria, Germany. and Salzburg, Austria. Here you get that true depth hiking feeling. A scene for picturesque photos for the ones who dare.

LOOK AT THE NUMBER.
First of all, I want to thank you all so so so much for the support you have all given me through out this project. You guys have lifted my confidence in my photography immensely. This would not have been possible without you all. I love you guys, and you are like a second family to me. I am so happy that I improved during this project and it helped me push my creativity level to the max. I have learned to always bring pepper spray while shooting, always double check to see if I have my memory card and battery for my camera, I learned how to expand images, how to use light, how to work with colors and how to manage my social life with my project and many more other things.
You guys are amazing.
(If you can't tell, those are 50 photographs in the picture)
50 days photo's in comments.
bahahaha I must have lost count because I have 53 pictures for my 50 days project. EXTRA CREDIT :D
I'm still debating whether or not to turn this into a 365. It depends if I make the volleyball team, because if I do, there's no way I will have enough time to study, play volleyball, and photography. I will find out tomorrow if I make the team or not!
For those of you who have done a 365, do you recommend doing one? Or do you recommend taking your time and uploading when you want to? I like projects because they are a motivation and everything, but a whole year seams drastic.

For everything there is a beginning and an end, there is an A and there is a Z, there is Alfa and Omega.
This symbolizes so many things for me now. It closes the cycle of 365 images.
Started out as a impulsive ADHD maxie project with a "what the hell, let's give it a try" kinda feel to it and see what I could come up with,
to make 365 photos and keep it interesting combined with my poetry and my sick sense of humor :)
During the project I've started to notice that it was also a very personal journey for me to wake up and shake some old demons off, and as you may know old demons made me sick.
Losing control over one side of your body isn't funny, losing the ability to speak properly isn't funny. months of insecurities and tests wasn't funny...oh don't get me wrong I am doing so much better and working my way back :).
So as you may know it took me a lot more than a year to finish this 365..but all things that happened never made me quit..and my girl never made me quit.
I cannot imagine what I would have done without her, with this project, helping me getting dressed, driving me to the hospital and so much more. I love you Liesje!!
And for you sweet guys and sweet girls, I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your wonderful support and concern and even sweet presents during this 365 rollercoaster and my sickness, it really sometimes brought me to tears.
I always thought that Internet friendships were a lot of blabla..but now I know there can be real warm connections and I cherish them allot.
And some people that are with me from the beginning have a special place in my heart..

Preparing ahead of time for Thanksgiving. I didn't have proper tools but was able to cut the backbone with kitchen knives. Took some time but wahla!
>>>>>>>>>>>>> aka until the day is done
{ In the process of constructing a manual collage -- scissors, mutilated photographs & publications, glue sticks. ad nauseam -- I had these last few elements sitting on the counter along w/ some related detritus, amd needed to shoot them the way they were just sitting there. After that, I added additional simple elements to create a triple exposure -- did you really expect otherwise? ;}
I like Coltrane. in the center, looking up (sort of levitating above the r.e.m. lyrics, et al.).
Incidentally, I have lots of film rolls shot over (no kidding) recent years -- whenever the moment has presented itself -- and I'll develop as soon as I find someone, meaning a lab, to work with! None left in town! D'oooooooh.
Well, thank you, as always, for stopping by. Prost. 8^)
Oh, those lines are from a photo of a cracked HD TV screen. Oops. ;}
Xziva & Lily, the XL obvious being her :) the L, little me .
Thought this week i would combine my two 52 weeks, the 52 weeks for dogs and the 52 weeks of Beyond Layers. We had the challenge to stop hiding behind our camera and step in front of it. I have been wanting to do a shot of Xziva and i because i suddenly realized there are no photo's of me with any of my Danes and we've had 6 !!!! already, i thought that was really sad so here it is.
I don't like being in front of the camera , like so many others ,but why do we hate that so much ??? Okay i liked my face better when i was 30 :) but i also feel that i deserve every laughing line, because that is what they are :)
This june i will be 65 !!!! but inside i don't feel any different from when i was 30.
I changed so much since then, cut of my long long hair, started wearing contactlenses and lost a lot of weight !! I'm pretty happy with me i can honestly say !!! but i'm always open to change :))
Not doing the joy challenge because my week 13 was already joy :)

Somewhere, I guess, there's a Lincoln beneath all this. I've never cared much for this car, but for some reason, was drawn to pause for a few photos.
