Idea leuconoe, the paper kite, rice paper or large tree nymph,[1] is known especially for its presence in butterfly houses and live butterfly expositions. It has a wingspan of 12 to 14 cm. The paper kite is of Southeast Asian origin, but can also be found in Northern Australia and Southern Taiwan.
Larvae feed on Parsonsia species, Tylophora hispida, Parsonsia helicandra, Parsonsia spiralis, and Cynanchum formosanum[2] so both the butterfly and larva are poisonous.
One of my attempts at the "Macro Mondays" theme "New".
While I got the feeling that I learned a few things over the last couple of years as far as photography is concerned, I‘m afraid to have reached a point of stagnation when it comes to making music. That‘s why I absolutely want to work on new ideas for compositions and try to do some real musical experimentation in the upcoming year.
Shot with a Friedrich "S-Coronar 25 mm F 1.4" lens on a Canon EOS R5.
Light and life are two strangely intertwined mysteries. In the beginning, the One, absolutely dark and cold, congeals into an original soup from which emerges the light that illuminates the world. Then, billions of years later, tiny floppy thingamabobs, by the grace of ingenious engineering, wriggle to the bottom of warm oceans, absorb shards of light to climb patiently the path of evolution and become living beings, sharp thoughts, brilliant ideas, beauty and art, love and observers of the world that created them. Why is there something rather than nothing? Why are we its spectators?

My Blog:
This might be a slightly silly idea, but I had a lot of fun sharing a small glimpse of what was going on in my head while creating and editing this image and this character. Writing it down felt right in the moment.
For me, it’s never just about the looks.
Editing is the part where my brain goes off on its own little adventure and the character starts to take shape beyond pixels and poses.
Please keep in mind that I’m just a roleplayer whose biggest passion is emoting — not a professional storyteller. And yes… this was also translated from my native language into English, so please be gentle with me. 😅
Still, I hope some of you enjoy getting a peek into Arawn’s backstory. And if not — hey, at least I had fun doing it.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Arawn was born where the water never forgets.
In the drowned groves beneath the world—where roots strangled the light and rivers murmured names no living throat should shape—he learned early that mercy decays faster than bone. The spirits there did not raise him. They claimed him. Fed him lies sweet as honey. Wrapped living vines around his wrists and called it protection.
He was beautiful even then.
That was his first curse.
They crowned him with antlers grown from living wood, not as a blessing but as a tether—proof that he belonged to the wild dark, to a bargain he had never agreed to. Power gathered in him like still water: patient, cold, inevitable. He learned to take what he needed. He learned that love, when offered, always carried a hook.
And in the water’s memory—long before Rowan was born—
their name already waited.
The spirits whispered it not as prophecy, but as warning. A flaw in the pattern. A future threaded into root and river alike that would not bow. Something the forest could not own.
They knew Arawn could be claimed.
He was dangerous, yes—but predictable. He could be bound with antlers. Tethered with ritual. Fed devotion until he mistook it for choice.
Rowan was not.
The spirits felt Rowan first as an absence—a hollow where roots refused to grow straight and rivers forgot which way they were meant to flow. Where futures forked and refused to settle. Rowan was not born of the forest, nor sworn to it.
They were not meant to kneel.
The spirits tried to erase them. Names misplaced. Paths misaligned. Chances quietly drowned before they could surface. But Rowan kept surviving—kept walking forward—kept becoming unavoidable.
By the time the upper world learned Arawn’s name, he was already a villain in their mouths.
The Forest King.
The Whisper in the Mire.
The one who traded salvation for obedience.
He conquered not with armies, but with want. Cities fell because people knelt willingly. He never corrected them.
But sometimes—rarely—Arawn would hear it again.
A name carried on running water. A presence just beyond the treeline. Not a command. Not a prayer.
A pull.

If I were a duck, I think I would prefer to stand on the rock to eat, rather than fighting the frigid current.

I had no idea what I was going to do today for a photo, and then a bulb lit up. Literally. Tesco had some awesome filament bulbs, so we bought a couple. This is not what I envisioned, mainly because I wanted it to be my hand because I knew how I wanted it to look, but I could not figure out how to trigger the shutter because my IR remote is not working. I think I was just too tired to get it perfect.
Is 37407 "Blackpool Tower" hauling the Severn Tunnel rescue train in this shot? I'm not sure. Seen here passing Coed Kernew back in 1998. Canon EOS3, Fuji Superior 200.

The Blavatnik School of Government is an impressive building, full of sweeping curves that on every level. Even with the wide angle Nikon 14-24 on it's hard to get everything it, so I took the 15 shot panorama that hopefully gives some idea of the size and scale of the place.

Cubist Idea - Every now and then my business travels allow for some downtime.
I was fortunate to find this very interesting staircase at The House of the Black Madonna, Prague, which is a Cubist building example and houses the cubist museum.
I am a sucker for these kinds of shots if I get a chance. Hope you like it.
I was trying to capture a leafless tree in the moonlight. This was my second attempt. I have no idea what created this effect except movement. Movement, I understand but where the color came from I have no idea. I’m guessing that the dark triggered a slow shutter speed and I moved before the camera was done. Full moon in Richmond Hill, Georgia with movement.
