This airframe had been seen at Riem as OY-SAY with Sterling in 1969 and 1970. There’s a report of HB-ICO at Riem with SATA on 9 September 1972, but this photo here looks more as if it was taken in early spring (the slide was undated). There’s also a later report of HB-ICO at Riem with CTA on 23 February 1979.
This Caravelle 10R was originally supposed to be delivered to Aviaco, but was not taken up. From December 1969 to January 1971 it flew as OY-SAY for Sterling Airways. SATA acquired it in February 1971 and flew it until the company was taken over by CTA Compagnie de Transport Aérien. CTA would operate it for another ten years. Via Farner Air Service, it would go to Air Service Nantes as F-GGKD in December 1988, then in May 1994 as HK-3869X to Colombia, where it would continue to fly until about 2003.
