If you were to take a look at a map, you would see that the Little La Crosse River meanders all over the place in many different directions! It's rather comical! This is the Little La Crosse River (although here it looks more like a stream or creek ha!) that flows just south of the town of Sparta, Wisconsin. I was able to capture this, just standing at the bridge that runs over Icebox Road. I like the reflection I was able to capture! I always think it's quite pretty, anytime you're able to capture reflection. Hope you enjoy!

Fussin' and fightin', we back at it again
I know that it's my fault, but you don't understand (no)
I got memories, this is crazy
You ain't nothing like the girl I used to know
Good with ma, good with pa, cool with all my niggas
I should try to decide, wanna let you in, but no
That means memories, and it's crazy
You ain't nothing like the girl I used to know
Girl, I really wanna work this out 'cause I'm tired of fightin'
And I really hope you still want me the way I want you
I said I really wanna work this out
Damn, girl, I'm tryin'
It's no excuse, no excuse
But I got this
I got this icebox where my heart used to be (but I got this)
I got this icebox where my heart used to be (said I got this)
I'm so cold, I'm so cold, I'm so cold, I'm so cold
I'm so cold, I'm so cold, I'm so cold
I got this icebox where my heart used to be (but I got this)
I got this icebox where my heart used to be (said I got this)
I'm so cold, I'm so cold, I'm so cold, I'm so cold
I'm so cold, I'm so cold, I'm so cold
Why can't I get it right?
Just can't let it go
I opened up, she let me down
I won't feel that no more
I got memories, this is crazy
She ain't nothing like the girl I used to know
I don't mean to take it out on you, baby, but I can't help it
'Cause my heart is in the same ol' condition that baby left it
And I, I apologize for makin' you cry
Look me in my eye, and promise you won't do me the same
Girl, I really wanna work this out 'cause I'm tired of fightin'

After a week in the overcast icebox with the temperature never rising above freezing, we reached the coldest day of the long cold snap here. Finally a little sun peaked out yesterday afternoon so I said to myself, why not be stupid and go out for a walk in the park. When else am I going to be able to experience such cold temperatures here? So I went upstairs to where my Mt. Kilimanjaro climb cold weather gear was stored and put it on, which left me looking like a spaceman. As I set out on my spacewalk, the car thermometer read 1F (-17C), because, after all, it was a record setting cold day, but happily, one with a nice sunset.
After this was taken, it just got colder. The low overnight at Wichita Eisenhower National Airport was -17F, breaking the record for the date of -6F that was set in 1903.

Celosia /siːˈloʊʃiə/ is a small genus of edible and ornamental plants in the amaranth family, Amaranthaceae. The generic name is derived from the Greek word κήλεος (keleos), meaning "burned," and refers to the flame-like flower heads. Species are commonly known as woolflowers, or, if the flower heads are crested by fasciation, cockscombs. The plants are well known in East Africa’s highlands and are used under their Swahili name, mfungu

Calathea is a genus of plants belonging to the family Marantaceae. There are several dozen species in this genus. Native to the tropical Americas, many of the species are popular as pot plants due to their decorative leaves and, in some species, colorful inflorescences. They are commonly called calatheas or prayer plants.

Cool old fridge near an old burnt down farmstead. All of these old abandoned appliances make me think about family gatherings and the people who used them. Those people are now forgotten, yet these rusting appliances remain.

Project 365 // Day 174
Reached #138 on Explore, April 30th, 2011.
Today, I arrived in New York city, though just for the day. I was here on business, so I did not have a lot of time to explore or see many places, but I did have time to do one thing – get to the top of the Empire State Building – and man, was it worth it. I have never before had such a breathtaking view, I literally felt like I was on top of the world. Strangely, one thing ran through my mind while I was up here, and it was Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" song. Before today, I could never relate to the lyrics, since I had never been here before, but now I can see and feel the meaning of the song.
New York is an inspiring city, it truly is the capital of the world.

Union Pacific ES44AC No. 8018 leads an SD70M and SD40N on the Roper-Denver manifest as it leaves the town of Fraser, Colorado on July 26, 2017. The town of Fraser gets the nickname "The Nation's Icebox" because some of the coldest temperatures in the country have been recorded here. Although on this day, the temperature was about 70 degrees.
