My brother had gone back to his dormitory after Christmas, so the heating in his room was turned off allowing the window panel to cool enough for the frostwork to grow. The first two shots of the series were made in the morning, but they required heavy digital editing (curves, white balance) in order to make them look better than a bunch of light grey curves over grey smudge. While editing the pictures, I was wondering if I had the chance to play with lights and get some darker background, some better shots could be taken that wouldn't require that much digital refinement. I went back to my brother's room during the blue hour in the evening, when the snow reflected back more and more from the amber coloured street lights as the sky was getting darker. To add some extra glitter, I switched on the lamp in the room.
Technical details: 65 mm, 1 s, f/3.2, ISO 200.

The Bluebirds are mostly 2000-2003 (the ones that look different are the crappy 2004-2005 All Americans) TC2000's and the IC's are CE300's.
Our buses are strange.
Things I rarely see elsewhere:
Chains, tow hooks, more rear rubrails, 22 seats, our paint design on the IC windows, full pneumatic systems (including air ride on new buses), incandescent lights where ever possible, but we do have strobe LED stop signs on the new buses. (Yes, the new Visions we just started getting only work with LED turn signals, but everything else is incandescent :|), new buses have plenty of rubrails that wrap around the back, and buses 2004 and newer have retarders.
We also fit all our buses with CB and AM/FM radios and "stop brake" systems that keep the brakes engaged when the red lights are on, and seem to make a buzzing sound when you let your foot off the brake (like a quieter FS65 buzzer), and newer buses have a light that goes on too along with the sound.

The sudden freeze resulted in a very interesting scene early March in 2008, New Castle, IN: a layer of ice was covering all trees and bushes, making them chystal-like and very brittle, too. I took some pictures at home and then took my camera to work and took some more shots on the way - the scenery was just marvelous...
A hirtelen jött fagy a tavaszi felengedés után egészen érdekes jelenséget eredményezett 2008. március elején (New Castle, Indiana állam): a fák és bokrok ágaira vékony jégréteg fagyott, egészen kristályossá és sajnos különösen törékennyé is téve őket. Az út is nagyon csúszós lett, a táj viszont gyönyörű volt, így nemcsak otthon, hanem munkahelyemre menet is kattintgattam a fényképezőgépemmel...
