Most of my friends know that I'm a big fan of anime and manga. I've been watching Attack on Titan forever. Even though I have finished reading the manga, but the final part of the anime is finally here and I'm excited to cry again XD. it is my position that what makes a painting, a sculpture, a drawing "Art", as in "fine art" or "important art", is its ability to evoke emotion within the viewer. the gaze becomes more than a passive observance but an action, a reverberance that remains with the audience long after the eyes have shifted. it doesn't matter if the art is in a museum or hung on a refrigerator, it's ability to create emotion, contemplation, inspiration, critical thought, creativity, dreams, and action are the measure of its inherent value. this series of photos are an attempt to capture that moment of exchange between the viewer and the art piece.

So this was an interesting piece. Drew this quite a while ago and it's been collecting dust in my IBISPaintX on my phone since then. Figured it was about time to finally finish it up and get it out of there. When I first completed this, I didn't really like it all that much. I've just sort of grown to like the outcome a little more now.

I honestly don't have a lot to say about this other than the fact that I think it's obvious that this is a vent piece.

Need not worry about me, however; I am doing alright right now.

I started colouring this on IBISPaintX a while ago before I lost the file when I replaced my phone OOF-

Sooooo I figured it was about time to actually finish it l0lol. Good thing I remembered the original colour palette I was using. I might have ended up changing some of the colour placement, but overall this is pretty much how it looked before. I was originally going to cut off the black and blue sides because this was a photo and that was just my hand holding the little slip of paper, but after upping the contrast and turning down the brightness it looked kind of cool. All I did afterward was just change the hue and bOOF it turned into this.

THIS STARTED OFF AS A STUPID PUN AND IT BECAME A FULL ON THING IM PROUD OF MYSELF AND ALSO WANT TO DIE

I have made a digital painting of a friend of mine who is transgender, using a program called ibisPaintX. I was referencing Chuck Close for this piece, wanting to do a grayscale painting o top of the trans flag. I used digital medium of work because its a pretty new form of contemporary art and gender and sexual identity is quite a new thing too, so I thought these would fit. Also digital, in any way, is used by a lot off us and sexual or gender identity is questioned busy a lot of us too, specially the younger gen.

I painted the portrait grayscale but not because of of Chuck Close's work, I did it because I really wanted to show off the flag and its colours, and colourful portrait would take attention away from it.

I am very proud of this test piece, as it is the first time I tried realistic portrait digitally.
