This was shot a long time back when I went to visit him in Austin. The bridge at the background is the 360 loop bridge.

Edited book cover, I Am Legend by Richard Matheson.

A 1954 post-apocalyptic horror novel that was influential in the modern development of zombie and vampire literature and in popularising the concept of a worldwide apocalypse due to disease.

Obvious I Am Legend inspiration is obvious. First build in over a month, so not the greatest thing I've ever done. I guess I just found a bit of spare time and motivation, both of which I have been lacking recently.

The last and only.

Richard Matheson eligió un hombre en un mundo de vampiros.

En estos tiempos también extraños, no es raro sentirse la última rosa del otoño.

Y, como le ocurre a Robert Neville (el protagonista), sólo ayuda saber que no está solo.

I'm a lonely man,I live with myself...

Huhu,my dear friends,I just finish my school work and back home.

The plane is tomorrow morning, see you when I back home--Hang Zhou.

I miss your great shots, but I have little time to view them,I'm so sorry.

Hope you all have a nice day!

Happy new year!!!!!!!!!My best wishes~

At the moment I should be in New York City, but my flight was cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy, so I have been looking at some old NYC photos from my last trip. This is taken from the Flatiron Building (see below) I posted sometime back. Watching TV as it happens over the last 24 hours has been like watching a disater movie. I hope my flickr friends and all those effected by this storm are safe.

And how many people have you treated so far?

-Well, we've had ten thousand and nine clinical trials in humans so far.

-And how many are cancer-free?

-Ten thousand and nine.

-So you have actually cured cancer.

-Yes, yes... yes, we have.

and grass. I always loved this photo we shot that was in Radar magazine because of the mishmash of stuff going on. Because it was an old digital camera it never looked the way I wanted. I went back to the raw file an revamped it with current technology. Now I'm happy with it.

A marsh. A cemetery. A parade ground. A gathering spot for avant-garde artists. A battleground for chess enthusiasts. A playground for canines and children. Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village has served various roles for its community throughout the years. Seen extensively in many movies and TV shows, the park was featured in the 2007 film I Am Legend with Will Smith.

In 1889, to celebrate the centennial of George Washington's inauguration as president of the United States, a large plaster and wood Memorial Arch was erected over Fifth Avenue just north of the park. The temporary plaster and wood arch was so popular that in 1892 a permanent Tuckahoe marble arch, designed by the New York architect Stanford White, was erected, standing 77 feet.

“Every night it was the same. He would remain barricaded in his house, the phonograph going full blast, an ample supply of whiskey on hand. But he could never forget that they were out there, waiting: The plague victims – the vampires who had taken over his world.

“For months Robert Neville had endured the horror, wondering why he was immune to a disease that had turned everyone else into creatures of nightmare. It occurred to him that this very disease might be the basis for all of history’s fearful legends – he didn’t know. Yet it was true that these 20th-century vampires followed the classic rules, so at least Neville was able to establish a system of survival.

“During the day he repaired any damage they might have done to his fortress the night before, making sure the generator and water supply were still protected. He hung crosses and mirrors, and strings of garlic taken from the hothouse he had set up. He spent long hours preparing wooden stakes, and hunting for the monsters’ hidden sleeping places.

“Always, no matter what he did, he kept track of the sun – knowing he had to be home again before it set.

“At time went by, Neville learned to live with the terror . . . but not with the loneliness of his existence. More than once he considered opening the front door to them and ending his torment.

“But no, he could not, would not die that way. He was the last of his kind, and he meant to survive. . . .” [From the blurb on the dustjacket]

“I Am Legend” became the basis for 3 motion pictures: “The Last Man on Earth” (1964) with Vincent Price, “The Omega Man” (1971) with Charlton Heston, and “I Am Legend” (2007) with Will Smith. It was also the inspiration behind George Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead” (1968). The concept of a worldwide viral apocalypse giving rise to zombies originated in Matheson’s book, first published as a paperback in 1954.

Tell me what you think! :)

"As I walked my path through life

My body being my temple of ideas

I wanted to express myself, my own way

Walking into the shop that day

I found my expression waiting for me

Custom drawn just for me in black line art

I made my way into the studio in the back

My nerves dancing in my skin and mind

As I sat down in the chair I knew this was it

Forever in my skin it would lay

As the artist prepared the machines

I watched in awe of his precision and care

The time had come and that buzz and click began

My flesh was prepared to receive its gift

As the razor slid down my back I closed my eyes

It was time to lay the idea into my skin

With artist vision the hands and steel became one

Flowing over my back in defined motion

A picture became a living portrait of life

As the minutes passed I felt the ink be laid

Into my skin like a humming bird kisses a rose

When all was said and done I stood once more

This time to see my idea frozen in time

As a portrait of vision in my skin

Laid in brilliant color for the first time

Now I understand the meaning of a Tattoo."

First attempt at trying to create an "I Am Legend" affect, could've done better.

critique would be great! Thanks

Ford Mustang.

Another one of those iconic New York scenes, this time the upper approach to Grand Central Terminal. This location featured in the movie "I am Legend" in the scene where Will Smith gets snared. I was there early in the morning with no cars about, almost like being in the movie looking out for the infected.

In his view, for achieving success, you have take smallest step possible in the direction of your dream at regular intervals.

He makes me believe that, "The PC which is not running on windows doesn't mean broken. (From a Ted talk) "

His philosophy.

1. Never let anyone stop you / don't let your dream be killed by those who have killed their own

2. Be prepared to fail

3. Be honest to yourself and proud of yourself

4. Always dig deep for knowledge and experience

5. Make life meaningful

This is an older pic, I had posted a similar one but this is slightly different. These were the lights they were using to light up the Brooklyn bridge. Apparently the 6 days of filming at this spot cost USD30mn.

Although the first appearance of Richard Matheson’s “I Am Legend” was in this modest paperback, it became the basis for 3 subsequent motion pictures: “The Last Man on Earth” (1964) with Vincent Price, “The Omega Man” (1971) with Charlton Heston, and “I Am Legend” (2007) with Will Smith. It was also the inspiration behind George Romero’s “Night of the Living Dead” (1968). The concept of a worldwide viral apocalypse giving rise to zombies originated in Matheson’s book.

The High Line, Section 3, New York City View On Black

I hugely appreciate your continuing comments, favorites and galleries. Thanks you for looking at my photostream! This past weekend, I was honored to be offered a special access tour of the undeveloped and under-construction areas of The High Line . This is the area immediately south of the West Side Rail Yards. Stay tuned for more shots!

I had to go into the office today to ship some material samples to a client. As I was leaving the virtually empty parking garage, I peered into the mall. The whole scene made me feel like the Omega Man.
