Ipadception, lol
Here's her description:
-------------------------------
My parents bought me an Ipad2 for Christmas and I love it! It was suppose to be a graduation gift, since I'm expecting to finish my Masters program this April, but they decided to just give it to me as a Christmas present (I had to beg them a little XD).
I'm going to miss student life once I graduate. If I miss it enough I might start studying again and get started on my PhD, hehe.
I got the title from a quote by Soren Kierkegaard.

Taken with my iPad 2
I dd have to tweak this one in photoshop. The sun beams are in camera one of the cool things I am finding you can do with the iPad2 camera. However, I picked up a weird artifact/reflection on the face.
The F used to belong to my dad, I guess it is way older than me (and still working), dad also had the 28mm f3.5Auto, the 50f2 H, the 85f1.8Auto and the 200f4Auto; when I was in my late teen he gave me the F and explained the DOF concept and the reciprocal rule, that's it, as far as I remember out of a 36 exposures roll I got almost all of them but none worth hanging on a wall... We then got the F3 so we could both have a camera but dad never more made any use of either the F or the F3, we had to mod the lenses to adapt them to match the F3, an artisan in Napoli made it. Even with the F3 I don't remember of any photo worth keeping, I was (and still am) a learning amateur.
As a present in memory of an old friend I got the 300f4ED, the tallest of the group, used it on the F3 with no much success, difficult to hand focus even though I had a FF split screen back then.
There were also an Olympus XA which I bought used from a friend of my dad, there still is a roll in, wonderful little camera, then it came the Minox from a friend of my dad, again.
I switched digital after my son was born, the Canon G2 was quite an expensive camera by that time, plenty of manual controls but, again, not really aware of how to use but I got nice A4 prints out of its 4MP. After that I got another Canon which to me looked like to betray my Nikon heritage, my dream camera was a Nikon or, wow, the Fuji S3/5 but they were too expensive and me too nerdy.
With the Canon 20D, which I bought used, I got a 28-105 which I soon changed with a Sigma 24-70, impressive bulky lens, all the pics were yellowish but I shoot a lot of them and some are very very nice memories to me. In the 20D times I got the Contax Planar 85f1.4 as a present, got an adapter but too difficult to focus on such a small and dark viewfinder such as the 20D one, the ones I got by the way were quite nice and, again, nice memories of good gone times.
Some summer a dear friend of mine got me the little Sony DSC-T100, 8MP in a pocket, this too gave me so many nice memories and some short videos, every time I used to fly I had it in my hand luggage to shoot take off and landing videos...
The summer before I got 40 the Fuji S5 went out of production, with some money handy (wonder how it happened...) I got one for a very good price and my F adventure began once again, I had only the 300f4 to begin but had to send it to service for fungus, in the meantime the manual lenses from dad worked fine but the manual focus was a nightmare. As soon as I could I got rid of the 20D and the Sigma, yappeeeee, Sigma gone and with its money and a little bit more I got the 35-70D which still performs nice, no haze, no glue, no fungus, just metal and glass and very warm and nice.
For my 40th I got the Panasonic DMC-L1, it was a fetish, reminded me of the old Leicas with its minimalist look and analog like controls, the lens which came with it is marvelous and in good light conditions the combo performs wonderfully. It came with me on many trips, always took very good care of it, it still looks brand new, less than 10K shutter actuations (seems I wanna sell it, right, I would like to, I don't use it and is a pity to let it collect dust), got an adapter for the Contax and, again, few but good shots with it and many good memories of my trips with the L1.
The S5 got used more and more but still now I have to learn to properly use it, 4 years have gone by and am still learning, in the meantime I got older, the camera is now vintage but I also got the 50f1.4D which is superb, many of my best (...) pics came with it and the 300f4, well, gotta admit that the nice ones are so nice because of the subjects (...), my dream was, and still is, the 85f1.4D, ohhhh I think it will remain a dream; in the meantime I got the 18-70 from a friend but it doesn't lock the AF so it turned into a paper holder; patiently waiting I got the 80-200f2.8, AKA the double ring, it is a marvelous lens and matches perfectly the S5 with its warm tones and also matches the 35-70 and 50, same age lenses made out of glass and metal, bulky and heavy but very nice tools which even in non expert hands give amazing results.
Last came the 10-24, a bargain I couldn't miss, never been into shooting wide until I got an used 28mm f2.8Ai (which is on sale by the way), I did some attempts but no success so the 28 is sitting in the bag since then waiting to be sold, when I got this chance I grabbed it hoping I would shoot some landscape but it is not for me, every time I pack and go (camera, lenses, filters, tripod etc etc) and come back home (more than once completely wet by salt water) I get so depressed by results that I plan to sell it all and get onto some other hobby...
People, faces, that's what I like to do, dreaming to pack and go for a long trip with the S5 and a couple mid long lenses to shoot faces over the world, will leave landscape to the capable ones...
What next? Will let you know...
Thank you for reading and for looking at my pictures

I'd set my mind on getting myself an iPad2 the moment it was announced but due to stock shortages, I lost interest over time (I wasn't as desperate to wait in line nor reserve one and Japan's launch date was pushed back due to the earthquake crisis at the time).
One weekend a few weeks back, I walked by the electronics store and out of curiosity, thought I'd check to see if any were available. As luck would have it, a handful were available on that day.
I've never owned an iPad before but I've grown used to it over the past few weeks and find it very useful for reading, managing my schedule, and recording everyday memories whenever I don't have my camera with me. Definitely a necessity in my bag everyday now : )
So decided to venture into the world of digital colur painting wit my ipad2! Sooooo fluid and love the way the paint mixes on screen and
Trails off with quick brush strokes, amazing bit if tech, will be using more now that I have found my ground with the software, next step on the spot, life speed paints :)
