Thought I’d head out and find a Rose this morning since I’m confined to the neighborhood as the result of a bit of required surgery. Too much beach time and too little sunblock can do that to you. Found this little jewel in the garden of the local church.

Just thought I'd mention that this Wednesday morning (30-12-15) from about 8:30 to 10:30 looks like being good for storm photos at Porthcawl Lighthouse. Sunrise is 08:20, High tide is 09:19 and the forecast is for strong winds. There are no guarantees, it may not be the strongest storm of recent years, but if the forecast doesn't change it should be worth a visit - oh, and be careful out there!
Any excuse to post a Porthcawl photo, eh? This is a crop of a photo I held back on previously as I thought people would not see the lighthouse in the wave. On reflection you lot are more observant than that, so I may post the full version later today for you to compare.

Thought I'd do an evening reconnaissance trip to Stokksnes despite our late arrival in nearby Hofn and the unpromising weather. Clouds were moving in and never cleared but at least they provided a dramatic mood over Vestrahorn.

I thought I'd better clean and tidy the sink area but she had decided it was her resting spot!
She's so much more friendly and she has toys to play with. We thought she'd be with us a week but it's almost three now, as some building work has gone on far longer than it should.

Visiting The Past series part two . A second look at one of my best street shots and definitely in my favorite top 5 all time photos i have ever taken . Could not believe my luck when i saw this even thought the light was harsh and difficult to work with .
Glad to say this won me a trophy back in 2015 for best B&W image at a local competition and the owner of the dog ( never found out who is the man) saw this photo in a newspaper and tracked me down and bought the exhibition copy . Thanks for reading : )

Using "Sassy Sweet Poses"
I was going back through my bug photos from last year, looking for a good one to add tonight since there's not much new happening out in nature right now here in the local area, when I came across this photo of a white-tailed deer fawn that I found out in the forest last spring while photographing insects. I'd forgotten that I even took the photo since I download all my bug photos into special files and wait until winter to look at them and then try to figure out what I found. I'm positive that I photographed this fawn that stood up at my feet with a macro lens
Because I'd just climbed over it. I was having a really weird and unpleasant day health-wise and hadn't intended to take a photograph at all, but saw this and nipped over the fence on the track to a farm building and snapped it with my phone. Then I painted it, of course ! Things are a bit better now, so here we are !
A bit late for Fence Friday but never mind, there are no fences in my picture LOL. Happy Fence Friday and all the days ahead everyone !

Complete with all the debris from her latest strike this beautiful lady treated me to several poses. Despite all my barnie pics this is one I have seldom achieved and certainly not close up.
I have a feeling my photo stream is going to be dominated by this young lady for some time.

Teddy Swims - A Thousand Miles (Vanessa Carlton Cover)
Just thought I'd upload a brightly coloured picture to brighten things up on this very wet and windy day, to have a wee colourful summer picture of a little yellow flower on a bush in my garden. Spring seems to far off now so at least have this to remind us of what is to come...
Well, I know this is not my normal processing but this weekend I had a catastrophe. My computer hard drive crashed and I lost everything. Every picture, every setting and preset I have created within my editing software, .psd files I created, etc. I should have backed things up but life gets busy and sometimes things get overlooked. So......I am starting over. I'm trying to keep positive.
The moment I'd been waiting and hoping to capture! The moment that I spent literally hours (in the sun and wind) yesterday waiting for. I knew in my bones that yesterday would be the day the 3rd chick would fledge and by god, I was gonna be there to see and capture it. And I did!!!!
This probably looks like any other avian take-off shot, but to me, it's way more than that. I got quite a few perfect frames right after this, too, before he/she went into a tree.
The fledglings will stay near and around the nest probably for a couple weeks, practicing their flying and landing skills, then dad will start showing them how to hunt for their fish and they will learn to catch their own meals.
Such an amazing process to watch these 3 osprey grow from tiny little dinosaur looking creatures to the beautiful adults they are now. I hope they all go on to live healthy, productive and amazings lives
