The town is constructed on the slopes of a hill around a port and impresses visitors at first sight with the elegant stone mansions. The special thing about Hydra island is that cars and other motor vehicles are entirely prohibited in all the island, so all transport is done on foot, by boat or riding the donkey.
I am glad that I can find this Hydrangea in Tawang Mangu. Before I thought it can grow in four season country only.

simple pleasures on an aesthetically perfect island.
Is truly the gem of the Saronic Gulf and stands alone among Greek islands as the one free of wheeled vehicles. No cars. No motobikes. Just tiny marble-cobbled lanes, horses, traditional houses,nice people and a big history.

Isla griega del Golfo Sarónico de Grecia en el Mar Egeo . Montañosa, con una extensión de 50 Km2 perímetro costero de 55 km y menos de 3.000 habitantes Su carácter único y muy pintoresco contribuyó a su transformación en un lugar cosmopolita, ideal para las vacaciones y el descanso. Artistas e intelectuales mostraron su admiración por la isla instalándose en ella .
Moments in my mind
The sea always in motion,blue water, the wind was blowing, clouds were forming.
Couldn’t take my eyes off the sculptures created by Νature in time,
the strength of shape the subtle poetic color of white and blue.
Here I stood, breathing deep this beauty .
There so much more exists than the eye can see.
Forever I engraved those moments in my mind.

Après cinq mois d'absence, je suis de retour chez moi.. Je reviens doucement visiter vos pages.
Hydra est une île pittoresque et fascinante, située à moins de deux heures d’Athènes. C’est en plus la seule île grecque sur laquelle on ne trouve aucun véhicule à moteur (hormis le camion-poubelle). Ni voiture ni scooter. Pas de pollution sonore et c’est un vrai luxe.
Des ruelles pavées, des bougainvilliers fleuris, des ânes, des petits villages pleins de charme, l’un des plus beaux ports de toutes les îles grecques et partout la mer translucide… Hydra est une vraie merveille. Nous vous recommandons donc fortement de faire un tour sur cette île au charme envoûtant. Une excursion d’une journée à Hydra depuis Athènes permet d’avoir un bel aperçu et de profiter de la douceur des îles grecques.
