My husband has enjoyed MacroMondays for as many years as I have. He asks the theme and then heads for his computer man cave or garage work space and brings me little tools.

This is a grouping of something called round stock in metric sizes with a twine wrap to keep them together. When in a tight circle they measure about 1 inch/ 2.54cm, but I couldn't quite figure out how to stand them to capture that tight circle. Someday...

Many thanks for looking and for commenting!

Note: the tree planters have arrived! More trees; back in a moment.

I just recently purchased a new camera. My husband has been encouraging me to buy this camera for years! A few weeks ago, I found a price I could not resist. I must say there are a LOT of buttons. After days of reading and watching videos, I decided it was time to test my knowledge. This shot has only been cropped with a small touch of saturation. The water was calm and reflected the tan building on the opposite side. As the ducks took to the water, I was focused on the lighting. I was so surprised at the colors and textures of the rippled water as the pair swam to the other side. I felt this would be a “Keeper shot”, which was confirmed when it popped up on my computer.

A winter photo from last year. My husband and Samson taking a walk on a lovely winter day.

My husband tracked several of the leaping wild juvenile rabbits this morning. They run and leap straight up so quickly. Saw about five young cottontails last night doing their rabbit racing. And we’d guess about 20cm when crouched temporarily.

Prey. All part of the cycle with eagles feeding their young nearby. Fun to see, however shortly.

We didn't take time to remove the 1.7x teleconverter. But I did desaturate the rain-soaked very green grasses.

I was excited to see a Calliope hummingbird for the first time. My husband and I found this little guy's perching tree and enjoyed seeing him several times while we were in Grand Teton National Park.

My husband built this birdhouse back in Alaska to specific sizes for swallows. Chickadees used it two years in a row. It stood high on a metal pole away from interlopers.

Then we moved here, birdhouse included, and finally, tree swallows! Sounds like quite a few hungry ones inside.

Photo today by my husband, Howard Marsh, using his D4 and my 500mm f/4 on the Manfrotto monopod.

My husband and I went looking for snowy owls on a cold, breezy day. It started to ice a bit when we found this snowy sitting on a log. The moon like shape in the background was some kind of spotlight.

I love how American Bitterns can blend right into the reeds. We were birding at Ridgefield NWR yesterday, when my husband spotted three American Bitterns! I was photographing the two Bitterns that were across the canal in the reeds. John noticed that there was a Bittern about 8 feet from our SUV. I was shooting with my Nikkor 500mm f/5.6 Prime lens, so of course I turned and took some up close and personal shots of the closest Bittern.

This was Loweswater in the English Lake District last week, days off work were spent counting clouds, turns out my husband is much better at it than me, I keep getting distracted.

My husband has kept some of his Hot Wheel cars from his childhood. The grandkids have gotten a hold of a lot of them but these are kept in his garage safely out of the hands of toddlers. These are two different images that I put together. My husband told me that he preferred this in black and white. Thank you all!!

My husband took the day off. We decided to pack the truck and do the circuit through Jasper, the Icefields and then onto Abraham Lake. It is about a thirteen hour drive but every turn and twist on the road leads to another photo op and, yet, another adventure.

We took Jager, my German Shepherd. She is a wonderful companion. She is always ready to go!

I find the mountains are a challenge to put into the camera - to try to duplicate the 'Ahaa' moment that you feel as you stand in awe is a talent I have not mastered yet.

How can you interpret or communicate the grandeur and the intense enormity of a mountain that stands hovering over you into a tiny camera? It is humbling.

This photo was taken very early in the morning - the beginning of our adventure. I was driving on the highway. I was completely transfixed and elated with the sunrise that was transpiring to the left of me. I finally couldn't dismiss it any longer, so I pulled off the highway and found a desolate country road. I needed to get this photo! .

The mountains are a privilege, but to stand alive, under an open sky and bathe in the beauty of another day is a gift...

The male Great Crested Grebe was not only bringing food but spent some quality time with the family, also preening the female's back that was occupied by their babies.

… my husband loves to find me crazy/wacky/odd/strange gifts for birthdays and Christmas. This has got to be one of his craziest! I think only a photographer would appreciate such a gift. I actually have many issues with my thoracic spine so I see this model regularly at my chiropractors. A focus stacked image comprising 25 separate shots

My husband spotted this old timer as we drove through Buffalo, Missouri, and shouted out, “There’s an old Packard!” He knew I’d be interested because I actually used to have to drive one. My parents inherited one from a great uncle, a ‘51, and decided it would be a perfect second car for 2 teenagers to drive to school. I was the hit of all the drive in restaurants as I cruised through in the Gray Grub! Years later, on a visit home, I hopped into the relic, intending to drive a few blocks to a shopping center. Imagine my surprise when after backing down the driveway, I was totally unable to turn it...no power steering that I was now used to! My dad had to come out and drive it back into the garage....

My husband and I took a walk through the wildflowers and weeds. We both experienced a relaxed and open mind, as well as a sense of euphoria. Very beneficial!

When Prince Albert, beloved husband of Queen Victoria, she had this huge pyramid built as his memorial overlooking the Cairngorm mountains, which was his favourite spot when visiting Balmoral. It can easily be seen on the hilltop when driving along the Dee valley road. Andy, my climbing partner, decided he wanted to climb it, but didn't get very far!

My husband enjoys baking bread especially with a view of Vancouver's snow-capped North Shore mountains .

PS This pumpkin fruit loaf is delicious!

Stay safe!

My husband and I were so so lucky to see this cutie (female, an oldie) on the Dutch beach Langevelderslag Noordwijk.

She was taking a nap over there! :-) She was a female oldie, the team from the mammals ambulance said. Apparently someone called them, but this lady was fine! :-)

My Husband was kind enough to humour me while I took a few photos of him with his trumpet.

Accompanied my husband to the VNEA World Pool Championships in Las Vegas where he and his team played for a few days. After they won $200 and were eliminated, there was time for a bit of sightseeing. This was a store inside the Miracle Mile Shops.

Revsund, Gallö , Sweden

My niece and her husband have a bed-and breakvast in Revsund, Sweden. A very nice place. They also have three cute alpaca's.

An alpaca (Vicugna pacos) is a domesticated species of South American camelid. It resembles a small llama in appearance.

There are two breeds of alpaca; the Suri alpaca and the Huacaya alpaca.

Alpacas are kept in herds that graze on the level heights of the Andes of southern Peru, northern Bolivia, Ecuador, and northern Chile at an altitude of 3,500 m (11,500 ft) to 5,000 m (16,000 ft) above sea level, throughout the year.[1] Alpacas are considerably smaller than llamas, and unlike llamas, they were not bred to be beasts of burden, but were bred specifically for their fiber. Alpaca fiber is used for making knitted and woven items, similar to wool. These items include blankets, sweaters, hats, gloves, scarves, a wide variety of textiles and ponchos in South America, and sweaters, socks, coats and bedding in other parts of the world. The fiber comes in more than 52 natural colors as classified in Peru, 12 as classified in Australia and 16 as classified in the United States.

They're really big bananas! ;-)

"An Ideal Husband" - O. Wilde

======================

LORD CAVERSHAM. And it is high time for you to get married. You are thirty-four years of age, sir.

LORD GORING. Yes, father, but I only admit to thirty-two—thirty-one and a half when I have a really good buttonhole. This buttonhole is not . . . trivial enough.

My husband and I spent the weekend in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Found this Columbine at the Historical Mill Creek.

Thanks for views, comments and favs :)

Husband & me decided to a local walk along the Jurassic coast (14th Jan 25) starting in Lulworth Cove & ending back in Lulworth. It is quite a difficult walk with some steep ups & downs. The weather up until mid afternoon was the best we have probably had in months.

The coastline in this area is part of the Jurassic coast, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

My husband just learned that his father is building a new home further inland and will sell the property he grew up on after construction is completed. This is the "backyard" where he played throughout his childhood and actually, much of his adulthood.

This site took on the highest waters (over 30 feet) in Hurricane Katrina. For coastal residents, the months of June - November hold a tiny dose of nervousness behind any other emotions we may feel. I'm glad to know he will be further out of harm's way in the future, but we certainly will miss this river view.

Hold on to the thread

The currents will shift

Glide me towards

You know something's left

And we're all allowed

To dream of the next

Oh, oh the next, time we touch

My husband and my brother. My two favorite men!

Photography done on the Halostar property.

This beautiful Robin was very content to perch on my husband's hand for some seed. Very trusting and such a wonderful nature encounter.

with our dog, my husband and a good friend this afternoon in the sunshine. Brought the camera this time. On the return trip, I was exhausted and had to slow down. It saddened me that I couldn't keep up. So my friend walked Mr B, and my husband walked me. :o) And saw these poppies on the way.

My husband spotted this in a tree about 300 yards away in the forest east of our place.

I ran out on the porch and took these hand held. Earlier this year we had a Turkey Vulture pose in this same area for us for a while.

The Big Birds must love these trees!

It was fun to photograph him.

When my late husband and I got married, we had our wedding rings engraved with the word “LOVE” and then our initials, and then the date of our wedding, 9 - 2 - 1972. His ring had my maiden name initials, and my ring had his initials. His ring is on the bottom, and my ring, with his initials “JRH” showing, is on top. They are well worn, as we had been married for 41 years when he passed away. He has been gone for 8 years now, and this coming September would have been our 50th anniversary. I have made a new life for myself and I am content. But one thing I’ve discovered is that a person doesn’t stop being a part of you when they die, and the love never ends.

Macro Mondays - Love

My husband and I went on a 15 mile hike on Wednesday. He would patiently wait for me while I took pictures. If you look close, you'll see him. He enjoyed it as much as I did!

Photos showing the underside of necklaces that my husband brought back from Dubai a few years ago. They certainly don't limit their talent and creativity to making the front beautiful!

husband, son and grandson...

at Smith Point Beach on a perfect day!!

My photograph captures a moment of serendipitous beauty during an evening stroll. While initially seeking symmetrical compositions among buildings, I found myself entranced by the vibrant hues of a magical sunset reflected in the water. My husband very kindly agreed to be my silhouette, completing the image adding to the reflection. No editing to this image just a little vignetting. There is quite a bit of noise in this image but I was ok with this as it was hand held and high IOS.

My husband and I went to the shore over night Friday for our 10 year Anniversary. We saw a beautiful sunset. We pulled off to the side of the road to catch some shots (about 50!)
