These colorful Bumblebees are very common in the Sandia Mountains. They seem to really like the Lupine and will completely crawl inside of each flower.

I tracked this Short Eared Owl chasing down a vole. They have a very erratic flight changing directions at will. It did catch the vole but went to far into the grasses from my angle to capture. You'll just have to settle for the in-flight profiles.
Settings: Canon 7D Mark 2, Tamron 150-600
F8.0, 1250th sec, 600 mm, Iso was set to auto and triggered 3200-4000. With the crop sensor my focal reach was 900mm.
This snowy owl was on the hunt for rabbits. She missed her target and perched up on a rooftop waiting for another opportunity. View large.

My fiirst Dragonfly hunt of the year and I spotted one. This Broad bodied Chaser [Libellula depressa] was shy and I couldn't get close to her. A nice start to my season, though and a pleasure to see them back.
So this is my first attempt at drawing a full head of hair, so of course I had to pick a target in motion cause I like punishment lol. I always try to do a bit of hair editing on my pictures but I realized just how different is it drawing it all from scratch. Thank you tutorials!! I also painted the fur over the furs she wore because I figured why not go full out if this is going to be so obviously edited anyways. I like the way the fur turned out better than how the hair did though. Gonna do more practice, it's not terrible for a first try but I know I can do better. Practice number one.
