Some moments are meant to be shared.

Others belong only to the quiet places within us.

In the middle of a crowded square, she seemed untouched by the movement around her. Her attention had turned inward, carrying on a conversation no one else could hear. We spend so much of life looking outward that we sometimes forget the importance of those silent moments, where memories settle, hopes take shape, and the heart catches its breath before stepping back into the world.

As composite basket boats become lighter, stronger, and increasingly popular, only a handful of craftsmen continue making traditional bamboo basket boats. Every boat reflects years of experience, skilled hands, and a craft passed down through generations. By preserving this tradition, they help keep alive an important part of Vietnam’s coastal heritage.

Sexiness wears thin after a while and beauty fades, but to be married to a man who makes you laugh every day, ah, now that's a real treat Im waiting for. ...My heart will belong to him♥

This photograph was made on a quiet morning at a Buddhist temple. A young monk of the Theravāda tradition sat in meditation beneath the temple eaves, withdrawn from the movement and noise of the world around him. The early morning sunlight filtered through the structure above, falling gently across his compassionate face. Light and shadow moved over his features as if they were dancing upon a face that remained completely still.

I stood there silently, observing the moment. In that profound stillness, I sensed something difficult to put into words: the spirit of letting go. Not an abandonment of life, nor an escape from its joys and sorrows, but the quiet state of a person who has learned to allow things to come and go—without clinging, without resistance.

The light continued to move. Time continued to pass. The world outside carried on with all its noise and restlessness. Yet the young monk remained there, peaceful and undisturbed amid the constant flow of change.

I pressed the shutter because I realized that what I wanted to preserve was not merely the portrait of a man, but a moment suspended between movement and stillness, between light and shadow, between all that we struggle to hold on to and the freedom that comes when we finally learn to let go.

Perhaps peace does not come from having more, but from the moment we understand that there are things we must release before the heart can truly be free.

A heavy moment amidst the late-night hustle of Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. While the warm airport lighting tempted me toward color, pushing this into high-contrast black and white stripped away all the visual noise, leaving just the patience, fatigue, and solitude of the journey.

This frame marks the final shot of my journey through Thailand and Sri Lanka. I’ve just published a full write-up on my blog exploring how this minimal setup performed over the past few weeks, complete with a curated gallery of frames from the road:

Freezing a lively, candid moment of enjoyment and activity on the river conveying the energy and atmosphere of the scene and making the viewer feel more engaged and part of the action.

Four young Nubian boys on stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) or surfboards in a river, acting as the main subjects. Their off-center placement creates a balanced, yet dynamic, feel.

Nature is viewed as a true home, offering more than what is consciously sought. The appeal of the wild and free is celebrated.

The river's flow and the arrangement of the boards create implied lines that guide the viewer's eye through the frame and toward the main subjects. The image uses multiple layers to create depth.

The water and foreground rocks establish the immediate foreground, the boys form the midground, and the lush, tall reeds and large rock formations create a dense background that fills the frame. The natural elements like reeds serve as a frame within a frame.

The image is rich in a natural color palette, dominated by the cool blues of the water, the greens of the abundant vegetation, and the earthy tones of the rocks. The colors are vibrant and well-saturated, contributing to an energetic and lively mood.

The combination of the active subjects, the movement of the water, the bright lighting, and the vibrant colors creates an overall mood that is active, energetic, and joyous. The image captures a specific moment in time, suggesting spontaneity and connection with nature.

Taken from a low, slightly elevated angle on the River Nile in Aswan near the water level, which emphasizes the boys' relationship with their environment.

別放手

I never knew who they were.

I only knew that this embrace lasted longer than most.

Some moments speak for themselves.

我不知道他們是誰。

我只知道,

這個擁抱比大多數擁抱都來得更久一些。

有些時刻,

不需要解釋。

the afternoon light does not judge. it falls on the counter, on the glass, on his hands. his arms are crossed, a line drawn against the world. the thought he is turning over in his mind is heavy. it has a shape and a weight. outside, the city makes its usual noise. inside, there is only the quiet work of memory.

Sometimes, one look tells the whole story

Spontaneous framing of a shining smile, light and shadows from the summit of Moses Mountain after sunrise.

his face, weathered like old leather, told stories no words could reach. from the street, i caught a glimpse of him—his hands folded, his gaze steady, as if lost between memory and the present. the café den coll, open to the street, framed the scene like a stage. he spoke to another man, but his thoughts seemed miles away. i focused my lens on him, drawn to the weight of his silence, the years etched in his features. the slate beside him bore the words "se feliz," a handwritten reminder, almost ironic in its quiet boldness. perhaps it’s the simplest wisdom, the hardest to follow: be happy.

For many years, this Buddhist temple has quietly opened its doors to orphaned children, homeless youngsters, and those who have nowhere else to turn. Many arrive here having never known the security of a true home or the comfort of being cared for.

In this photograph are children who have only recently been welcomed into the temple’s care. Before beginning their new lives under its roof, the monk gently offers them his first words of guidance. They are likely not profound teachings, but simple lessons about living together, studying well, respecting others, and learning to grow as a family.

The hand resting softly on the child’s head is an ordinary gesture, yet it carries a profound message of protection, compassion, and hope. From this moment on, the road ahead may still hold challenges, but these children no longer have to walk it alone.

Sometimes, a temple is more than a place of worship. It is a refuge where lost children find a home, a caring embrace, and a chance to begin again.

Being human, we crave companionship, fear solitude, crave solitude, fear companionship.

..."Possessing all the beauty

Hungry still for more

Heaven holds a sense of wonder

And I wanted to believe

that I'd get caught up

when the rage in me subsides

In this white wave

I am sinking

in

this

silence

In this white wave

in this silence

I believe

I can't help this longing

Comfort me"...

'when loneliness turns to silence...' On Black

captured in the quiet coastal district of portixol, this striking portrait draws you into an intimate moment of contemplation. the close-up of the man’s face, with his intense gaze and subtle expression, reveals a moment of deep reflection as he takes a break from his meal. the natural light falling on his skin accentuates the texture and detail, adding depth to his quiet demeanor. set against the blurred backdrop of portixol’s calm atmosphere, this image portrays both the beauty of solitude and the power of stillness in an otherwise bustling world.

Beneath the mountain and across a sea of green rice fields, three monks walk quietly under their yellow umbrellas. There is no rush, no destination to be reached, and no words to be spoken. Only gentle footsteps moving in harmony with nature and the stillness of the moment.

Accompanying them is a small black dog, a faithful companion sharing the same path. In this simple scene, beauty is found not in an extraordinary event, but in the quiet awareness of each step taken.

This photograph captures an everyday moment of monastic life, where mindfulness is not merely a concept but a living practice expressed through each step. Surrounded by open fields, mountains, and sky, the monks embody a peaceful connection between human beings, nature, and all living creatures.

Sometimes, peace is not found at the end of a journey, but in the way we walk through it.

Amid the flow of busy traffic, a street vendor raises a rambutan high in the air, sending a friendly signal to people across the road. Without a single word, the simple gesture conveys everything that needs to be said: fresh fruit, a fair price, and a warm invitation.

In that brief moment, commerce becomes more than a simple exchange of goods. It becomes a small act of human connection, expressed through a gesture that is easy to understand and filled with goodwill.

In the rush of everyday urban life, moments like these remind us that closeness between people often begins with something as simple as a smile, a glance, or a sincere gesture.

Sitting quietly upon a stone, the young monk turns away from the outer world and toward the vast landscape within.

In a time filled with constant movement and noise, this simple moment reminds us that true peace is often found not by going farther, but by going deeper into ourselves.

A spontaneous burst of wings mid-step—unplanned, unposed, unforgettable. Laughter filled the air for a brief second as the world tilted with energy. More than just birds in flight, it’s a celebration of joy erupting where no one expects it—in the middle of an ordinary day
