View last night from the office, looking over Fellows Oval towards Telstra tower, Canberra, Australia.

This is the final product of many dozens of test panoramas. Finding a dramatic sunset and catching it in a pleasing composition was the aim. On close inspection I can see a number of areas I could improve, one thing was that I did not set the focus off automatic, and some of the closer objects went out of focus as I went round for the panorama. I have managed to incorporate manual focus in more recent images.

I love the idea of the underdog winning against a strong adversary, even if that foe is only beaten with a strength in numbers. Noisy Miners are my favourite bird for this exact character.

I have been watching this spot for a few mornings, waiting for the right lighting, and the right frostiness. This ended up being one of the coldest mornings of the winter, so there was iciness everywhere, giving the image a real feeling of cold. The image is made up of roughly 7 frames stitched into a panorama so I could get a broader dynamic range from left to right, and I used the 28mm focal length as I found it had less distortion than my 17-40mm.

Pic from 3 years ago, Steve Vai, playing at the Convention centre in Canberra. Great lighting made this gig loads of fun to shoot :)

Parliament house looking particularly spectacular this year :)

Enlighten festival, Canberra, 2015. In searching for an angle that showed this festival in a way I'd not seen it, putting to a scale with the sky and city.

I have had a few sightings of these elusive animals on campus, so I will keep trying for the perfect shot... in the mean time, isn't the campus pretty!

This iconic corner has always been a bit of a mystery to me. It's a couple of turns into the Clyde range, between Braidwood and Batemans Bay. A couple of metres off the road and you'd think you were a thousand years into the past :)

A wonderful scene to be eating truffled cheese and trying tasty wines near Canberra. Was looking to get photos of the kangaroos till I saw this amazing tree.

A visit to the gorgeous garden at the top of Lena Karmel Lodge, ANU, yielded this awesome view :)

Love finding signs of anti culture close to Canberra's high streets and expensive new areas. It was especially cool to see how it had been there long enough to become over grown, a feat not managed by many buildings in this town. Some of the feedback I got for this image included that the car could have been more of a focus for the image and that is was a little bit too over saturated. I plan on improving these factors in future panoramas by metering carefully for the shadows and ensuring I get more than 3 panorama sequences to process.
