Bagattelle d’Inverno, l’ultima grande sfida #snellobb04
Birichinate, cammuffamenti, trasvestimenti, scherzi… insomma, in una parola: Carnevale!
Comunque lo si dica e comunque lo si festeggi, il Carnevale è da secoli una festa in cui la parola d’ordine è “divertirsi”.
Quindi, bando all’austerità e bando alle restrizioni, potevamo, noi di MondoSnello, non cogliere quest’occasione perfetta di Gusto e di Benessere, per vivere l’ultimo grande appuntamento delle gare di cucina di Snello Blind Box?
Eccoci qui, allora, amici di Mondosnello, estimatori dei prodotti Snello Rovagnati e appassionati Food Blogger che partecipate con noi ormai da un tempo che comincia a farsi lungo, perfino “tradizionale” (proprio come ci piace ;-)) a darvi il benvenuto a questa quarta sfida tra pentole, fornelli e… qualcosa di speciale – sennò che Carnevale è!
I fantasiosi piatti saranno assaggiati e votati da una giuria di esperti gastronomi di altissimo livello, a cominciare da Gil Grigliatti, gourmet di cultura ed esperienza internazionale. Da giovane è stato fiduciario Slow Food, nonché ispettore della guida dei ristoranti del Gambero Rosso per diversi anni. Autore del blog bilingue di cultura enogastronomica isymposium.org. Ancora Paolo Barichella, esperto di Food Design, autore del blog barichella.it; Alessia Cipolla, architetto e sommelier, autrice de lacostruzionedelgusto.it; Alessandro Salamone, reduce dalla trasmissione di La7 Chef per un giorno, autore di spaghettibites.com e ancora Angela Tomaiuolo co-fondatrice del web magazine milanodabere.it. Inoltre sarà presente Giacomo Kratter, otto volte campione italiano ed ora allenatore della Nazionale Italiana Snowboard. Quella da snowboard però non è l’unica tavola che ama: infatti Giacomo è un grande appassionato di cucina e adora farsi coccolare in ristoranti di lusso.
La giuria per l’occasione sarà presenziata dallo chef stellato e pluripremiato Davide Scabin, uno dei più apprezzati in Italia e all’estero, noto al grande pubblico per la partecipazione, nei panni di giudice dei cuochi in gara, a La Prova del Cuoco condotto su Rai1 da Antonella Clerici.
Per questo, abbiamo deciso di mettere insieme una serie di ingredienti saporiti, variegati, originali, proprio come in ogni ricetta gourmet che si rispetti:
- un pizzico di tradizione – la sede di InKitchen Loft, che ormai è prontissima ad accoglierci, in qualunque veste ci presentiamo
- e uno di modernità – quello che emana netto dalle protagoniste della gara, giovani donne che si muovono agili tra vite professionali sfidanti e articolati ménage familiari
- una buona dose di fantasia - fatta di maschere, costumi e colori sgargianti
- e l’ingrediente segreto – le nostre amate BlindBox, chiuse fino all’ultimo secondo anche al più ardito degli sguardi
- il tutto cosparso con una spruzzata di giocosità bambina – grazie a un buon numero di piccoli “scavezzacollo” che avranno il loro tavolo, i loro ingredienti, i loro cibi, e soprattutto una chef d’eccezione - Stefania Corrado, la “Multitasking Chef” che più che presentazioni merita i nostri più sentiti complimenti ;-) – a guidarli alla scoperta del buon cibo, del gusto e del mangiare bene… sapendolo preparare.
Già, perché, in fondo, soprattutto in un’era estremamente tecnologica come la nostra e come quella di quell’immediato futuro in cui saranno loro i protagonisti del mondo – far mettere “le mani in pasta” ai nostri bimbi lo consideriamo un onore, oltre che un piccolo grande contributo all’educazione dei “buoni mangiatori” di domani…
Amanti della cucina, appassionate del gusto, attente all’armonia dei sapori e alla cura per la buona e la bella tavola
Estimatrici di ricette snelle - per velocità, capacità, leggerezza - esperte nella valorizzazione degli ingredienti di stagione e nella rivisitazione moderna di piatti tradizionali, si sfideranno, si concentreranno su pentole e fornelli dimenticando tutto il resto, per dare il meglio di sé.

Psicologa, piemontese, animata da una vera passione per la comunicazione e la condivisione, ha trovato nell'arte del cibo un mezzo straordinario per celebrare entrambe. Il suo viaggio da Food Blogger inizia con un blog creato in sordina, tuttavia in molti la notano e in ancora di più la seguono. Insomma, et voilà, il suo cammino continua rigoglioso, condito da sapori, ricette, un grande amore per il territorio, e tanta curiosità per tutto ciò che è "altro".

Non c'è dubbio, il suo nome è già un affermazione forte e chiara. Dice subito chi è e da dove viene. Almeno tanto quanto il suo blog nato dal desiderio di ritagliarsi uno spazio tutto proprio dove raccogliere e condividere le sue più grandi passioni: la cucina, il vino, gli amici e la Franciacorta.
Insomma, semplicità e ironia, ricette ed eventi, vini locali
e non solo, sono gli ingredienti di "una franciacortina in cucina".
Quindi, tra la stuzzicante prospettiva di gustosissimi lecca lecca di parmigiano con crudo e bresaola e prove di formine su pasta sfoglia con fette di prosciutto, in attesa delle prelibatezze imprevedibili che ci prepareranno le nostre sfidanti – adulte ;-) – non resta che invitarvi a conoscere un po’ meglio Lina, Serena, Irene e Arianna, giovani, pimpanti e agguerrite Food Blogger che ancora una volta ci delizieranno di una versione inconsueta e sorprendente dei prodotti che amiamo di più, con un occhio attento, come sempre, alla stagionalità.
SnelloBlindBox_04_CucinaTuVi abbracciamo, dunque, in un turbinio di coriandoli che non lascia presagire niente di… scontato :-)

In 1969 and 1970, Heyerdahl built two boats from papyrus and attempted to cross the Atlantic Ocean from Morocco in Africa. Based on drawings and models from ancient Egypt, the first boat, named Ra (after the Egyptian Sun god), was constructed by boat builders from Lake Chad using papyrus reed obtained from Lake Tana in Ethiopia and launched into the Atlantic Ocean from the coast of Morocco. The Ra crew included Thor Heyerdahl (Norway), Norman Baker (USA), Carlo Mauri (Italy), Yuri Senkevich (USSR), Santiago Genoves (Mexico), Georges Sourial (Egypt), Abdullah Djibrine (Chad). After a number of weeks, Ra took on water after its crew made modifications to the vessel that caused it to sag and break apart. The ship was abandoned and the following year, another similar vessel, Ra II, was built of totora by Demetrio, Juan and Jose Limachi from Lake Titicaca in Bolivia and likewise set sail across the Atlantic from Morocco, this time with great success. The crew was mostly the same, only Djibrine had been replaced by Japanese Kei Ohara and Madani Ait Ouhanni (from Morocco). The boat reached Barbados, thus demonstrating that mariners could have dealt with trans-Atlantic voyages by sailing with the Canary Current.

Anarchists have been associated with May Day in Melbourne for 126 years with the formation of the Melbourne Anarchist Club on May 1st, 1886 while a huge labor demonstration was about to occurr in Chicago. The anarchist Chummy Fleming chaired the first May Day public meeting on the Yarra Bank in 1892. Anarchists continue to be part of the tradition of May Day in Melbourne.
In 2012 a small commemoration was held in front of Her Majesties Theatre where the MAC held it's first meeting in a first floor office on May 1, 1886. But the main public event was a gathering at the Melbourne 8 hour day monument. The gathering then held a vary anarchic march through the streets of Melbourne, going past the Police Remand Centre, the Law Courts where Max Brenner protestors are defending their right to protest in court, the Reserve Bank of Australia, several of the big 4 bank branches, and the Victorian parliament on Spring Street, before ending back at the 8 hour day monument, opposite Melbourne Trades Hall.
The march was relatively small, perhaps 50 people, and soon attracted a 20 strong police escort. The best part was the music being pumped out of the sound system on the support vehicle. It made a long and potentially boring march into something a little bit more bearable.
Just like on May Day 2001 I had the feeling the ghost of Chummy Flemming accompanied us on the march and benevolently smiled at all the young people keeping the spirit of anarchism alive, even though fashions and music have drastically changed. He would have been chuffed at Jacob Grech's speech today at the Eight hour day monument.
This shoot went really well I feel, I was really stoked on the shots we got. Check back often cause there's probably close to 15 or so that I'll end up posting.

The Chiado Museum is an art museum located in Lisbon, in the Chiado neighbourhood. It was created in 1911 and re-inaugurated, in new installations, in 1994.
The museum covers the period between 1850 and 1950, with works by the foremost Portuguese artists of the period, as well as some foreigners. It holds the best collection of Portuguese painting and sculpture from the Romanticism, Naturalism and Modern periods.
Among the artists represented are António Silva Porto, António Carneiro, António Soares dos Reis, Miguel Ângelo Lupi, Columbano Bordalo Pinheiro, Amadeo de Souza Cardoso, Abel Manta, Dórdio Gomes, José de Almada Negreiros, Nadir Afonso, Mário Eloy, Auguste Rodin, and many others. The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions.
Since 1994, the Chiado Museum has occupied the old Convent of São Francisco (Saint Francis) in Lisbon, a building of mediaeval origin. The adaptation and renovation of the convent were done by French architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte.

Situado no centro histórico de Lisboa, o Museu do Chiado – Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea, fundado em 1911 como Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea, foi inteiramente reconstruído em 1994, sob projecto do arquitecto francês Jean-Michel Willmotte.
Em 1911, a criação de um museu de arte contemporânea terá sido inédita e pioneira no contexto internacional.
A divisão do antigo Museu Nacional de Belas-Artes em Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga, que herdou daquele as obras realizadas até 1850 e continuou instalado no Palácio das Janelas Verdes, e em Museu Nacional de Arte Contemporânea, constituído por todas as obras posteriores a esta data, tendo sido instalado no Convento de São Francisco da Cidade, num espaço vizinho da Academia de Belas Artes. A instalação neste espaço, ainda que provisoriamente, vinha simbólica e oportunamente situá-lo na zona frequentada pelas tertúlias das gerações representadas no museu. Ocupava os antigos salões onde as exposições dos românticos e naturalistas haviam tido lugar, em espaços anexos ao convento.
A colecção de arte portuguesa, de 1850 à actualidade, constitui a mais importante colecção portuguesa de arte contemporânea, incluindo pintura, escultura, desenho, vídeo, entre outros media.
O programa de exposições temporárias, de particular relevância, ocupando totalmente o espaço de exposição, articula-se em três grandes linhas: incide sobre núcleos de obras, artistas e movimentos representados na colecção, propondo revisões e novas pistas de investigação sobre as matérias tratadas; traz a Portugal exposições internacionais que se cruzam com as colecções do museu; e apresenta obras de artistas contemporâneos internacionais.

- Toshiko Oiwa : Elle est chorégraphe, interprète, enseignante, et masseuse
thérapeute. Elle a travaillé en Europe, en Amérique du Sud, en Asie, et en Afrique.
Née au Japon, elle a fait ses études de danse contemporaine à la Juilliard School de New York. Elle a été interprète de « THARP! » (Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company), et a dansé avec le Ballet Preljocaj de 1996 jusqu’en 2006.

« 12 »
« 12 » est un jeu de méditation avec le corps, divisé en 12 parties. C’est une performance urbaine nomade, que Toshiko Oiwa fait voyager en la faisant évoluer au gré des climats urbains dans lesquels elle est représentée ; après San Paolo, Tokyo et Aix-en-Provence, ce sera une première à Paris.

- Charles Essombe : Il entreprend une formation professionnelle en danse contemporaine avec la compagnie Coline en 2002-
2004. Il y traverse le répertoire d’Hervé Robbe, de Michel Kelemenis, de Merce Cunningham, de Dominique Bagouet, tout en interprétant également des créations. Il intègre en 2004 la compagnie Jean-Claude Gallotta, puis danse avec les compagnies « Aurélia », « Les gens d’Uterpan X-Event » et « Enfin le Jour ». Il se forme à la danse butô auprès de Richard Cayre, et
poursuit son cheminement artistique en collaborant avec Abou Lagraa, Jocelyne Danchick et Yann Lheureux.
- Emma Sylvain : Après avoir été formée à l’Institut de Formation Professionnelle Rick Odums, Emma Sylvain intègre les
Ballets Jazz Rick Odums. La rencontre de Cathy Grouet et de Jean-Claude Ramseyer lui permet d’aborder de nouvelles interprétations scéniques. Parallèlement à l’enseignement de la danse jazz, elle s’essaie à la chorégraphie.
Okene is the birthplace of American Hockey League player and National Hockey League prospect Akim Aliu. People in Okene are predominantly ebira. Inhabitants of the areas northeast and southwest of the confluence of the Niger and Benue rivers in central Nigeria. Their language is usually classified as a Nupoid variety within the Benue-Congo branch of the Niger-Congo language family.
The two main habitats within the Igbira area are a dense, deciduous forest along the Niger and Benue rivers and a hilly savanna region away from the rivers. Most Igbira have traditionally engaged in agriculture; they grow mainly yams but also such crops as beans, millet, and corn (maize). The rivers are used for both fishing and transport. Women do most of the trading and sell both their own and their husbands' produce.
Igbira households were traditionally based on extended families composed of close patrilineal relatives under the authority of the oldest male member. Inheritance and clan membership were reckoned patrilineally. Igbira could marry outside their clans, which were kinship groups represented by totemic animals such as the lion, the crocodile, the leopard, and the python. A key institution of social control was the iregba, a shrine where decisions on religious matters or social offenses were made.
Groups of Igbira villages (wards) drew their chiefs in alternation from branches of ruling families. Village councils could settle disputes, sometimes in collaboration with the chiefs or with councils of other villages involved in the cases. The specifics of chief selection or succession varied between areas within the Igbira region. The Igbira kingdoms of Panda and Koton Karifi were small independent states for about 100 years, until their conquest in the mid-19th century by the Fulani. British administration through traditional rulers began in the early 20th century.
The traditional beliefs of the Igbira centre on Hinegba, the supreme god, who is benevolent, resides in the sky, and controls the universe. Hinegba is approached through intermediary spirits, who are connected with such natural objects as trees. Igbira ancestors are also viewed as agents of Hinegba. Since the early 20th century many Igbira have been converted to Islam and Christianity.

En el mundo de la salsa una agrupación logró el éxito porque pudo fusionar el soul y el rythm & blues con el sonido afroantillano y de esta forma conquistar el público caribeño y el afroamericano. Se trata de Los Hermanos Lebrón, diestros creadores del funky blues a finales de la década de 1960. Fueron los que insertaron las líricas en inglés y le agregaron cierto sabor de gospel al movimiento de la salsa.
Los Hermanos Lebrón
La familia Lebrón se inició en el pueblo de Aguadilla, Puerto Rico y continuó creciendo en el sector negro de Brooklyn, Nueva York, ciudad a la que llegaron sus padres en 1952. Pablo, María, José, Ángel, Carlos y Franky se educaron en un ambiente netamente musical y con sabor a su tierra natal… el padre escribía décimas y en la familia la mayoría eran músicos y tocaban cuatro y guitarra, además de cantar.
Pablo Lebrón, quien se destacó por su voz, nació el 30 de junio de 1937, el único que vivió su infancia y adolescencia en el pueblo de Aguadilla, en Puerto Rico. En 1954 organizó el grupo Las Tres Monedas, el cual sirvió de inspiración para sus hermanos, y en 1965 fundó la Orquesta Arecibeña.
Por su parte, sus hermanos Ángel y José Lebrón, en 1962 organizaron su primera agrupación, en la que también integraron a su primo José Manuel. La llamaron Los Eltones. En una ocasión Pablo, que estaba con su Orquesta Arecibeña en el club Las Vegas de Brooklyn, logró que el dueño del local les diera una oportunidad. De esa manera, la agrupación, que desde entonces se nombró Ángel Lebrón y su Combo, comenzó a trabajar de lunes a viernes en el club interpretando los éxitos del cancionero popular afroamericano.
La oportunidad para grabar les llegó de la mano del empresario George Goldner, jefe del sello Cotique, gracias a que había aceptado escucharlos en vivo. Como ese encuentro era importante, Ángel y José le pidieron a su hermano Pablo que los acompañara en las interpretaciones, para aprovechar su veteranía y maravilloso estilo interpretativo. Los hermanos Ángel, José, Pablo y Carlos interpretaron, a su manera y estilo, dos boogaloos. Fue Goldner quien les sugirió que se llamaran Los Hermanos Lebrón y les solicitó la preparación de un álbum completo.
El album apareció en 1967 con el título de Psychodelic goes latin: The Lebrón Brothers Orchestra, el cual incluyó los temas Summertime blues, Tall tale, Mary, Mary y My cool boogaloo. También cantaron en español Suena, Mi mambo, Mala suerte y Descarga Lebrón.
Gracias al éxito arrollador del primer trabajo, en 1968 presentaron su segundo disco, The Brooklyn Bums, nombre de un famoso equipo de béisbol. Publicaron nueve temas con interpretaciones en inglés y español, entre otros You've lost that lovin' feeling, The village Chant, Boogaloo pa mi San Juan, Vacilón, Son sabrosón y El cantante.
En 1969 apareció I Believe y Brother, que impuso éxitos como Pancho, el Loco, Daddy's home, Nona, Dance, dance, dance, Boogaloo Lebrón, Díganle, Don't be afraid, Fe, Couldn't give you up y Since you've been gone.
La década del 70
En los 70 el boogalo empezó a perder terreno y Los Hermanos Lebrón reflejaron este cambio produciendo un disco totalmente en español. Apareció en 1970 con el título de Llegamos y con temas como Mi fracaso, Tus recuerdos, Orgullo, riqueza y lujo, No le diga, Sin ti, Equivocada, El balcón aquel y Todo lo echas a perder.
En 1970 apareció Salsa y control uno de los éxitos más importantes de la salsa. En este álbum también publicaron temas como Tú llegaste a mi vida, Qué pena, Piénsalo bien, Estoy loco, Bongó loco, Regresa a mí y Sabor típico. Es en este álbum que se hizo evidente la influencia americana con el soul y el rythm & blues, los toques de jazz y los innovadores seis coros, que le brindaron un verdadero sello de distinción. En los boleros, buscaron el sonido tradicional de los tríos puertorriqueños.
Para muchos, Los Hermanos Lebrón, una verdadera institución dentro de la música del Caribe, son de los primeros en utilizar la palabra Salsa. A partir de Salsa y control, todo lo que se conocía como son, mambo, guaracha o guaguancó, se renombró como salsa.
En 1971 los hermanos Ángel, José, Pablo, Carlos y Frank Lebrón publicaron con el sello Fania Picadillo a la criolla, álbum del que se destacaron temas como Temperatura, Te lo imaginas, Vagabundo y La agonía, entre otros.
En 1972 publicaron En la unión está la fuerza que incluyó hits como Dulzura, Solamente tú, La envidia y la tumba, Como son las cosas y Moros y cristianos. Estuvieron con Fania hasta 1984, tiempo en el que aparecieron los discos Asunto de familia (1973), 4+1 (1975), Distinto y diferente (1976), The new horizont (1978), La ley (1980), Hot stuff (1981) y Criollo (1982).
En enero de 1981, Pablo sufrió una trombosis cerebral. Esto marcó su retiro de la agrupación y en solidaridad los Lebrón tuvieron un receso de cuatro años. En 1985 volvieron a los estudios de grabación con el vocalista Frankie Morales y produjeron Salsa Lebrón (1986). Luego apareció El boso (1988), cantando Pablo Lebrón, y poco después Loco por ti, vocalizado por Ángel y José.
A partir de entonces, llegó al grupo el cantante Luisito Ayala, quien permaneció por más de una década. Lo místico fue publicado en 1998 y le siguió el álbum 35 Aniversario" en el 2002, además de varias compilaciones.
El 28 de diciembre de 2006 Los Hermanos Lebrón se presentaron en el teatro Jorge Isaacs de Cali, Colombia, para rendirle un merecido homenaje en vida a su hermano Pedro. De este homenaje surgió un espectacular DVD, con testimonios y mucha música, que titularon Asunto de familia, retomando el mismo nombre que ya la habían dado a una de sus producciones. Este documento histórico junto con un disco compacto que ofrece 10 de sus clásicos en honor a sus 40 años de vida artística, en el 2009 se sumaron al catálogo del naciente sello Global Entertaiment Music, para beneplácito de todos sus seguidores.
Los hermanos Lebrón llegaron a ser cinco, aunque Pablo ya no está en la orquesta desde hace varios años por su enfermedad, Por su música y sus grabaciones la obra de Pablo Lebrón, Ángel Lebrón, José Lebrón, Frankie Lebrón y Carlos Lebrón sigue vigente.

I gave about an hour in the one location as the DVD says waiting for the light which is some thing I never would have done before. I used a polarising filter to give that extra bit of contract to the sky.

Popeye Village, also known as Sweethaven Village, is a group of rustic and ramshackle wooden buildings located at Anchor Bay in the north-west corner of the Mediterranean island of Malta, two miles from the village of Mellieħa.
It was built as a film set for the production of the 1980 live-action musical feature film Popeye, produced by Paramount Pictures and Walt Disney Productions and starring Robin Williams. Today it is open to the public as an open-air museum and family entertainment complex.

OBITUARY
The death is announced of Mr F. A. Archer, who had been in ill health for some time, and who passed away at his residence at Fendalton on Monday evening.
He was born at Melbourne fifty-one years ago, and, when a boy, came to New Zealand with his parents, who settled at Timaru, his father, the late Mr Fulbert Archer, joining the firm of Miles and Co., which then became Miles, Archer and Co. He was educated at Christ's College, Christchurch, and began his business career with Miles and Co. in this city.
In 1895 he became stock auctioneer in the firm of Dalgety and Co. Two years later, when the Hon E. W. Parker retired from the position of supervisor for Dalgety and Co. and went to England, Mr Archer was appointed manager, a position which he held until about a year ago, when he was compelled by failing health to resign, to the regret of the members of the staff and of the firm's clients. In other directions Mr Archer took a prominent part in business affairs. He succeeded Mr Parker as the Christchurch member of the Colonial Advisory Board of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Canterbury Saleyards Company. He took an active interest in the affairs of the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association. He was elected a member of the general committee in 1896, vice-president in 1900, and president in 1901.
In his younger days he was a prominent football player and a Volunteer. He leaves a widow and two sons and one daughter. One of his sons is in the office of Messrs Duncan, Cotterill and Stringer and the other is in Messrs Dalgety and Co.'s office. A large number of flags in the city were flown at half-mast in memory of the late Mr Archer.[4]

The Air Force Armament Museum, adjacent to Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, is the only facility in the U.S. dedicated to the display of Air Force armament. Founded in 1975, it was originally located in a converted gymnasium on the northeastern edge of the Eglin main base, adjacent to Valparaiso, Florida.
Visitors can view a variety of historical Air Force planes, from a World War II B-17 bomber to an F-4 Phantom II jet. A wide variety of bombs, missiles, and rockets are exhibited, including the newest air-to-air missile, the AMRAAM, and the GBU-28 bunker-buster developed for use during Operation Desert Storm. Other missiles include the Paveway series, Falcons, the Tomahawk, Mace, Hound Dog, radar-controlled, laser-controlled and several guided by a TV camera in the nose. Also on display is the GBU-43 MOAB, Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb, or by its nickname, "Mother of All Bombs", the world's largest conventional explosive weapon. A predecessor, the T12 38,600 lb. demolition bomb, is displayed outside, while a Fat Man casing is indoors.
A gun vault displays a variety of weapons ranging from a 1903 Springfield rifle to the GAU-8, which is capable of shooting 6,000 rounds per minute. Featured are the Sikes Antique Pistol Collection, with over 180 handguns, including flintlocks, duelling pistols, Western six-shooters, Civil War pistols, and a wide variety of early military weaponry.
