Montenegro is a country in Eastern Europe bordering Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania and the Adriatic Sea. It used to be a part of Yugoslavia. The capital is Podgorica. The name Montenegro is Italian and means Black mountain. Montenegro was an independent princedom between 1878 and 1910 and an independent kingdom until 1918. That year Montenegro became part of Yugoslavia. In 2003 Yugoslavia was transformed into the new country of Serbia and Montenegro, but this fell apart in 2006 when both countries went their separate ways. Montenegro is therefore the youngest country in Europe. Montenegro is not a member of the European Union, but it is a member of NATO. Despite the fact that Montenegro is not yet an EU Member State, people do pay with the euro. Montenegro may be small, but this beautiful nation has a huge array of natural and man-made wonders. Once overlooked in favor of more famous Mediterranean countries, Montenegro is quickly gaining a reputation as a great place to travel. It's easy to see why. The mountainous hinterland is home to deep gorges, flowing rivers, glacial lakes and old-growth forests, popular for adventure activities. The winding coast runs along pretty blonde bays overlooking the royal blue Adriatic Sea, ancient Venetian villages and UNESCO-walled towns. Our Lady of the Rocks is one of the two islets off the coast of Perast in Bay of Kotor. According to legend, the islet was made over the centuries by local seamen who kept an ancient oath after finding the icon of Madonna and Child on the rock in the sea.
Perast is an old town on the Boka Kotorska - Bay of Kotor in Montenegro. It is situated a few kilometres northwest of Kotor and is noted for its proximity to the islets of St. George and Our Lady of the Rocks. the Lady was built upon a rock after two Venetian sailors from Perast found a picture of the Virgin Mary on it in 1452. The first memories of Perast refer to 1336—at that time there was a small fishing village, which had a shipyard, and there were always several commercial and fishing boats in the harbor. But since the strategically important island of St. George, which belonged to Kotor, is in the immediate vicinity, the development of Perast was going very slowly. Perast also had free trade with the Republic of Venice and was granted the forgiveness of the Venetian authorities in the ruthless fight against pirates on the Adriatic. Ooit over het hoofd gezien ten gunste van meer bekende mediterrane landen, krijgt Montenegro snel een reputatie als een geweldige plek om te reizen. Het is gemakkelijk te zien waarom. Het bergachtige achterland herbergt diepe kloven, stromende rivieren, gletsjermeren en oerbossen, populair voor avontuurlijke activiteiten. De kronkelige kust loopt langs mooie blonde baaien met uitzicht op de koningsblauwe Adriatische Zee, antieke Venetiaanse dorpjes en door UNESCO ommuurde steden. Perast, is een oude stad aan de baai van Kotor in Montenegro. Het ligt een paar kilometer ten noordwesten van Kotor en staat bekend om de nabijheid van de eilandjes St. George en Our Lady of the Rocks. De Lady werd op een rots gebouwd nadat twee Venetiaanse zeelieden uit Perast er in 1452 een afbeelding van de Maagd Maria vonden. Melbourn'es Yarra River was originally named Birrarung by the Wurundjeri. It is situated in East Central Victoria and divides the city in "North and South of the Yarra". It originates in the Yarra Ranges, flows through the Yarra Valley and Greater Melbourne before it empties into the Hobsons Bay. The river stretches over a total length of 242km (Source: wikipedia).
Technique:
The picutre is a 10 Shot Panorama taken about 20min after sunset with an picture exposure of 30s at f/11 and ISO 100. I used DxO Optics 6 for the RAW file conversion and Autopano Pro 2 for the stitching of the panorama before post-editing it in Bridge and Framing in Photoshop CS5.

The end-result is a 76 Megapixel photograph which is printable 4.7m x 2.0m at 72 DPI.

Irgendwo unterwegs aufgenommen - auf einem Parklatz entlag der Autobahn. Irgendwo zwischen Wolfsburg und Karlsruhe :-) Die Wolken begleiteten mich fast die ganze Strecke, und damals kam mir der Gedanke mit dem Titel.
Egal wo und wie wir leben - es ist der gleiche Himmel für alle. Ob arm oder reich, ob alleine oder umgeben von Familie und Freunden, egal ob unterwegs mit dem Auto, zu Fuß als Spaziergänger, oder gemütlich lesend und Musik hörend :-)

Am 9. November 2009 jährt sich der Mauerfall - 20 Jahre - eine lange Zeit, und ich wünsche mir, dass sich alle daran erinnern, wie es damals war, als wir hier im Westen erfuhren, dass die Menschen dort endlich reisen durften, wohin sie wollten. Ich war zu Tränen gerührt und ließ diese auch laufen. Ich schämte mich dieser Freudentränen nicht. Heute weine ich manchmal, wenn ich höre, dass viele Menschen diese Mauer wieder haben wollen.

Not so long ago, I had a full day planned with dinner with friends, meeting up with another friend at one of my monthly social gatherings and at the end of the evening.. there was still a birthday party of yet another group of friends.
For such busy day, I just try to keep it simple. And for me.. that usually means a Steps dress and Steve Madden heels. :-D
This dress looks like a skirt/top combo.. but it really is a dress.. and like most Steps dresses, it fits very nicely. I guess they had my body shape in mind when designing these dresses!

This was the first time I had gone to a wannaGoFast event. I went on a Saturday, September 17th, 2016 to the Heaven's Landing Airstrip located in Clayton, Georgia. I want to thank the wannaGoFast organization for providing me a media pass to this event. I would certainly go again in the future. If you never been to such an event, you should go at least once and see what it's really like to see cars going their fastest. This was the first time I had ever seen a Lamborghini go over 200mph in person !

Barbara's wonderful group has been hibernating for a couple of weeks but she's invited me to take it on for a while. It is, in my opinion, the best, high quality colour group in FlickrLand so I'd better not screw it up :-) Excellent images with great use of colour and super composition - that's the aim.

Shooting at Hozukyo, Kyoto. We were a big group of people with Me & My friend Diao taking pictures. We went there for the red leaves, but actually it looked like it's too late, and we only had this tree behind her as a proper background for our pictures.
